Who is telling that economy needs high technology? I am strictly speaking on defence. Even Saudi Arabian economy or Singaporean economy is quite good with hardly any advanced technology. Don't mix up things. Speaking of economy in a defence conversation is like talking Chinese grammar in a class...

Making scalpel and medical tools is not high Technology. Neither is making sport goods. It is true that programming language is just another language. But just like in manly language we find that there are some coding language more suited for certain type if codes. So, it does matter which...

Avionics can have C++ but FBW is generally ADA for better flight controls. Avionics tend to be integrated across different platforms, many even developed by third parties. So, integration using C++ is OK. Otherwise, some areas require ADA as the C++ does not have all the syntax needed for coding...

Let us not pretend like this. Country like UK is much smaller and yet has had greater technology 70 years back than what pakistan has now. Pakistan has absolutely no useful technology, not even 15% of India. Pakistan has no technology to even make car engine, basic electronics, pharmaceuticals...

JF17 is not upgraded Mig21. Its wing structure and fuselage shape is quite different. The contribution of Pakistan is writing 2 dimension FBW in C++ coding language (good planes have 3 dimension FBW & written in ADA language optimised for aeronautical stuff), manufacturing of some metal parts...

That is number of parts. Of the 40000 parts, over 10000 are nuts, bolts, fasteners and other simple things. That is not correct way of defining indigenisation

This is something I have explained in over 100 posts. I am too tired to repost the sources. Read the above post and follow the sources as given in the link of the different posts in the Kaveri engine thread of this forum. I will post the link again-...

In Su30 made in India, India is having almost 100% indigenous technology. Only a few technology like IRST is from Russia. Engine, Radar, avionics etc are all India made with full indigenisation. Some royalty payment like imports of nuts, bolts etc at high cost is done. In case of JF17, it is...

Su30 was built to be a heavy fighter. So carrying heavy missile/bomb was inherent to its ability. It was already meant to carry Klub class missile which weighs 1.5-2 tons. So, modifications to carry Brahmos was less significant than what you claim. FBW can be tweaked only to some extent. It is...

A plane can't be made to have different material. There is delicate balance of weight and centre of gravity in the airframe and internal LRU of the plane. Changing the material will severely alter this balance and hence the plane will be unfeasible to fly. So, one either has to design from...

@Indx TechStyle wrotw fantastically. I would add some more points- Kaveri has been tested and cleared by Snecma for flight trials in 2018. Helina/Nag has already been test fired. LUH prototype has been out running and even performed openly in some airshow recently. From where do you get such...

There is technology transfer agreement. India already makes Su30. So, additional Rafale will be better. The rafale in MMRCA will be having capabilities to use Kaveri engine instead of M88 engine. So, overall it is an advantage in a long term viewpoint

The quote is ancient one. It gets being repeated blindly. At best, India manufactures Al31-FP indigenously according to the standards certified by UEC as the TOT involves guarantee of technology by UEC and technical assistance if something goes wrong. But imports from UEC is old news.

HAL has already absorbed the technology. Since Indian MKI started to come from 2005 onwards, I don't think there arose a need to overhaul them. Also, due to various problems in serviceability, most of the MKIs remained in hangars for long durations and hence the life of the MKIs are less than...

Russia nowadays rarely ever sells major arms. Russia is more into petroleum and gas. That is why Russian share in arms market is dwindling quickly. It is not incompetency. Russia simply has too much foreign exchange and surplus trade every year and getting more trade serves no purpose

AESA radar is scaled up or down by adding additional T/R module, not by increasing size. That is the specialty of AESA radars. UTTAM has 700 T/R module and a scaled up one will have 1500. Changing size is a big hassle and that is why PESA and other older radars suffer from non-scalability...

This reactor generates 100KW of electricity or useful power to run anything. Even Rustom-2 engine is powered at 120kW. How does this tiny reactor make sense? To get higher power, you need water cooled reactors

    Sukhoi Su 30MKI

Because high powered reactor requires water coolant which can be provided in ships and submarines but not in planes. We don't have arc reactor technology that can generate power in a cool manner

Su30 has unmatched maneuverability, supercruise and TVC. Rafale is overweight and has low powered engines. It is slow and struggles to fly with decent loads. Typhoon was a better fighter as its engine is bigger than Rafale. Rafale 50/75kN engine is too bad and does not offer much hopes.
