How much does the lack of such basic equipment prevent you from getting the maximum out of the training imparted ? Or is training also a function of equipment at hand ?

Oh I think it's easy to pass judgement. Given the sheer rubbishnesh of their budget ( and also therein their ability to hire quality people let alone R&D) they punch far far above their weight.

Forget the small arms. The cold weather kit and shoes do not look DRDO made. Is this emergency kit purchased from amrika ?

Whatever pattern/BDU we choose has to be based on the a scientific process. We have to do R&D with troops in the field. This goes for both the pattern and the material used in the uniforms. BDU is not something an RFP can be issued for.

There is no Goal. The reality of combat is that soldiers are trained to what they are most likely to face. and Most likely they will always engage the enemy from 50m to 200m. Good read on the science of 762/39 Vs 556/45 https://www.snipercountry.com/5-56-vs-7-62/ Notice 2 things. 1) Calibre of bullet is less important than Quality of bullet. 2) notice what happens to bullet velocity post 200m 3) 556 has higher better ballistic coefficient and upto 200m have...

Questions to be asked: 1\ Do we believe an average Infantry grunt will be able to engage targets at 800yards/700meters successfully or efficiently? Thats DM range. IMO waste of moeny giving higher powered scopes to all shooters 2\ Average enagegment range for Infantry will continue to be...

Also not a question of are they permissible. The army has a policy of 2 sets of uniform and shoes a year per soldier . This gear is made by the worst of the worst quality by OFB which further outsources to random manufacturers. Hence no two units look alike to begin with. Imagine the rigour...
