Suga Daddy to visit India later this month. First state visit since corona, and first visit by a QUAD head of state.

I'm sure we have a little surprise for our Chinese guests, too.

If I were Jaishankar, I would've made full use of the events in Alaska to make a case for S-400. America is rapidly ceding global leadership to China, and when that happens, we can't be caught with a bag full of western arsenal, and need to keep diversity, until we can localize most of our systems.

No, we fight China's superiority complex, like we did at Galwan, and Pakistan's 2-front Ghazwa wet-dream.

Google just updated Google Earth Pro with spectacular new 2021 sat-images in the Spangur Tso, Pangong Tso, and Galwan areas. Knock yourselves out. Lots to see.

In a way we've already crossed that bridge with Tejas.

Yes, my point is, the $20 billion number was mostly pulled out of someone's ass by adding up the value of all ongoing firm-orders and prospective sales that are "pre-authorized." For example, for Boeing to compete in the MAR tender, it will seek out an authorization.

Well, start by counting the 90-odd GE F404s for the Tejas Mk1 order, the UCAVs, a pre-authorization for the Boeing 767-based mid-air refueller tender, and maybe add some secret Raytheon/Northrop AAD system that the Americans are mooting as an alternative to S-400.

It's good that these things are happening now. At least 3+ years of BJP rule left, the "fog of war" remains, as does the justification to take extraordinary/expensive measures (such as spending big on cyber security and information warfare). Indian cybersec is a money problem. If the government...

Bastards tried their hand with Telangana power network, but this time CERT-IN was ready. https://www.news18.com/news/india/another-mumbai-like-blackout-telangana-power-utilities-dodge-chinese-hacking-attempt-after-alert-3492275.html After proving that despite their hardware, the PLA are...

That "cyber cop" has just been outcucked by the State's energy minister. His musings are invalid.

    India-China 2020 Border conflict

I'd actually argue that in a "dark" way, the Chinese have done us a favor through that cyber-attack. Power companies across India have a legally-valid reason to disqualify Chinese bidders from current and future tenders for decades, and we get higher quality equipment made by companies such as...

MH government's validation of the NYT report makes things official now. All the cameras will now turn to the Centre on what happened, and what it has done so far. It also strengthens our case at the WTO to block imports of chinese shit.

Granted, everything bad that happens in Pakistan is always "raa ki saajish," but the "raa ki saajish" reports during the nationwide power blackouts Pakistan suffered recently stand out. They allege an Indian op. China is underestimating the Indian/American ability to play cyber warfare.

    India-China 2020 Border conflict

Power infrastructure is being hardened and de-sinosized on a war-footing. Cybersecurity is the number one investment priority for Indian banks, and they're spending big.

    India-China 2020 Border conflict

The point here is not hardening, but attaching costs for the Chinese actions. They're now facing a market-access denial from the fastest growing electrical grids that's also one of the world's top-4 in network size. I'm sure India has also invested heavily in cyber-security of the grids. With...

    India-China 2020 Border conflict

Yes, and India immediately banned use of chinese equipment across the electrical grids. Why do you think you're seeing so many vague-sounding Toshiba and Hitachi ads on TV off late? It's because both are selling electrical grid equipment to discoms, replacing chinese shit. India is reselling...

    India-China 2020 Border conflict

I think the takeaway here is that despite de-escalation, India isn't letting its guard down, defence equipment, munition, and ordinance production are at peak capacity, and we're ready to deal with any deceptions.
