    Is there development being made on the EMALS technology? IMO, it would be a few decades away at least, considering that even the USA hasn't fully developed that technology yet. More information on this would help.

    I read what you're saying, but I don't quite understand what you mean. I was speculating on nitish's post here, especially the bolded part. I hope this is true. If they do, then I hope we skip the catapult technology and go directly to the EMALS at this stage.

    Thank you for the information. I just looked it up and the aircraft are STOBAR. According to the wikipedia, STOBAR only works with "light, and lightly armed, fighter aircraft that have a high thrust to weight ratio." Since Kaveri is having problems, I guess we can't expect the LCA to be standard...
