RCI, DRDO has successfully developed micro-bolometers & Focal Plane Arrays(FPAs) for IIR seekers to be used on various Indian missiles. Previously DRDO used to source FPAs & micro-bolometers from the French company Sofradir. Work is ongoing to further improve on the resolution.

DRDO has developed a new 81mm smoke grenade shell to be used from tanks, IFVs & other armoured vehicles. This grenade will replace the current Russian origin smoke grenades in use today. Smoke shells are the primary passive defence system that tanks & armoured vehicles employ.

DRDO had experimented with various geometries of Explosively Formed Penetrator(EFP) warheads for Anti-Ship use. Its not known which missile was meant to use this. The DRDO's NASM-SR is the likely candidate. The Brahmos relies on its speed rather than warheads to take out a ship.

Super-stallion engine is indigenous, has more power but not sure why still we use TATRA and repeat orders for it, TATRA 815 is indeed good but Super-stallion also serving and equally gud or for TATA's LPTA.
