Well none of the missiles and missile systems are operational minus BrahMos and minus Akash a medium range command guided missile system, problem is using foreign systems, the developer do not teach us the trick of the trade, that makes us just the end user like any other country.

Their is difference in performance wrt range launched in high altitude AAM (actually the claimed maximum range of an AAM is based on maximum performance at high altitude) and that of a surface launched missile, for example a surface launched US AIM-120 AMRAAM NASAMS is some thing around 15-25...

In simple Anti Ballistic missile performs lots of correction in its path for interception minute before the contact, while Anti Aircraft missile is all about agility to catch its prey as it tries to run away.

    Indian Army MRSAM

Well I am no expert but it seems for Intercepting a ballistic missile usually the warhead like section aka kill vehicle is calibrated to reach the target but for an anti aircraft missile it is the missile as a whole chasing the aircraft till it is in a proximity range, occasionally having a...

Ballistic missile Interceptor is all about precision especially for a hit to kill, while Anti aircraft missile needs high agility. A single missile need not serve both the purpose.

Type 52C got the HHQ-9 SAMs similar to S-300, maybe Indian Pilot play a hide and seek game with the Destroyers till it heat up and waste all its missiles Last minute exist from danger zone while the canisters are being heated for a launch.
  18. Payeng

    Indian Army MRSAM

I wonder how the S-300 would perform in a real time Battle field as it takes 5 mins to make a launch ( note : cold launch)
