The media event was in India. So, if they will show wrong map they will be booked as it is a an offence.

Govt. agencies have in the past have got away by saying sorry after showing wrong map only because they are govt. agencies. That privilege might not be available to Chinese company.

International media houses who try to be neutral portray the disputed areas with dotted line.

If showing the wrong map of Indian version could make xiaomi sell well in India, I would say please show that map, as long as the event take place in India.

those Chinese netizens who are slapping xiaomi for showing the wrong map are simply naive. given the intense anti China sensation among Indian people, it's suicidical for xiaomi to display a map of Chinese version in the event, xiaomi could risk losing its business in Indian market, which is not acceptable to a company whose mission is to earn money from the pockets of its potential Indian customers.

It's the other way around. MI-4 gives you the same hardware and features as a Korean/American smartphone that has double its price (Snapdragon 801, 3 GB RAM, QHD display, etc.). Xiaomi is saving Indian customers money.

So we get to save money, and see our correct map.

Of course,
Indian customers are happy by saving money;
Chinese firms are happy by earning the money;
Indian politicians are happy by "correct" map;
Chinese politicians are happy by selling more Chinese products in Indian market;

Looks like everyone is happy, what a wonderful transaction.

Like China always contends, both sides could benifit from a booming sino-indo trade.

Xiaomi is all set to make a BIG leap into India.

Therefore, what else can they do?

And the Chinese understand Money over anything else.

Is that how you sell products in Taiwan, by showing their potato as a separate country?
They have no scruples.

For money, as the saying goes, they will sell their mothers.
