My family has had opportunities to settle abroad, we always chose India. USA is fun to visit, though.

Q. Would you want to settle down in the US?

A. Yes and No.

In detail:
Southern States, yes, except Louisiana.
Northern States, no.
New England, NY State, NJ State, hell no.
Utah, Yes.
Rest, not sure.

I was kind of interested in discussion what happens to a country when most people want to leave it,, and it looks like more Chinese want to leave China then Indians want to leave India according to one survey.....I am not sure how reliable the surveys are. But according to two surveys half or more want to leave both India and China. When I was much younger and single was thinking of retireing I read a book on how to live well in Mexico on 800 month, figured I could live like a King on 5000 month, but never did go. But it was not because I wanted to leave the USA.

when one doesn't know the context or the sarcastic element one shouldn't simply post.

see this -> http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/...ry-netaji-subash-chandra-bose.html#post543425

The US has a high crime rate and people die every week from gun related violence. If you really want to settle in the west, there are better, safer countries out there with better social safety nets and living standards.

EDIT: For average american, as regards to your question about why Indians want to leave India, obviously because they perceive that they can avail of higher living standards in the west. Better pay, better roads, less corruption, better overall health, and a social safety net. That's the reason anyone wants to immigrate, to live a higher quality of life.

For me they are all pointless, stick to the point, answer in only one word.

Yes or no.

Did you said or used 'bastard' word for Netaji?

Again, yes / no.

........

If yes, then what else left for abusing him.

abuse - definition of abuse by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Now check your post again.....

Messaih, KS and maomao... all in the same team! This is a weird day! And all discussing the benefits of using water while cleaning one's ass! :tsk: BTW I splash soap as well! :thumb: :D

On the topic, I would like to visit US. Nice place. Folks follow rules. The quality of work would be generally better. And yes, it pays! These would be the reasons why anyone would want to settle in US. For myself though, settling down in US is out of question. Don't see any scope of spending my retirement in any place other than in MY place.

^^You can always retire in India after you earn money in the US. Scores of Indian Americans do that. Relatively easy way to live like a king too, earn in $$, spend in rupees.
