After its December 24th 2017 maiden flight, the AG600 prototype B-002A conducted a second test flight on January 24, at 9:54 am:
The AG600 prototype performed its first ferry flight from Zhuhai to Jingmen Xhanghe airport Sunday morning. It will perform its first water flight from the Xhanghe reservoir:

If China kits this out with serious ASW gear this could be a potent platform. The ability to refuel at sea is invaluable if you can operate in high sea state.
Not for high sea state i think, just for rescue and fire fighting, maybe also suitable transportation and patrol between "naturally grown" islands in SCS...
