slamabad: Nawaz Sharif, the man who is tipped to become Pakistan's Prime Minister for the third time, has said he would bring to an end his country's involvement in the US-led war on terror, if he comes to power.

In an interview to BBC, Sharif said Pakistan's exit from the war was essential for peace in Pakistan and elsewhere in the world.

The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), however, refused to say whether he would stop military operations against the Taliban and al Qaeda.

"It's a matter of detail," the BBC cited him as saying.

Voters in Pakistan are scheduled to cast their ballots on May 11. The elections are historic as it is the first time in Pakistan's history that an elected government will hand over power to another elected government.

He sure can, when he is not dependent on the US and the IMF.

Otherwise Mian is a caged parrot!
