Soviet campaign strategy NEVER involved Blietzkrieg. That word and concept is based on Nazi warfare and requires speed, good road access and superior technology. Soviets belived in slow buildups and overwhelming force. In Europe, by the end of WW-2, they had a 7:1 tank advantage over the other allied forces. Whether in Afghanistan or in Chechnya, the soviet/ Russian model has been of overwhelming force - not one of Blitzkrieg.
Soviet campaign strategy was deep battle. There's nothing "slow" about it, but it did involve the use of overwhelming force.

The fundamental difference between Soviet deep battle and Nazi blitzkrieg was that the Soviet doctrine emphasized making multiple breakthoughs along a large front (so that quantity could be better utilized) while Nazi doctrine emphasized force concentration on a single point (the center of gravity or "schwerpunkt").
