Yes, true. But most Indians don't emigrate to the US and start behaving like Jay. I want to start Rajni jokes on Jay.

Do you know that JayATL pays 60% of America's federal taxes, accounts for 40% of Americas total wisdom and trains all of America's Olympians and beauty queens?

It was a hyperbole. Don't take it literally.
People do want to go to US, i agree but people are stupid. People in the US want to migrate to else where to. They like Canada or the West board or California. People are dumb if they are white they want to tan, if they are dark they want to be pale, if they are tall they want to be a little short, if they are short they want to be tall, if they are average they want to be best, if they are thin they want more muscle or fat, if they fat they want to be thin.

So who is Indian here? This is how people think. Go back to the old saying Grass is greener on the other side. However life style is better in the US but i know one women who went there and hung herself.. Should not mention that, she was my relative.

60% of unwanted teenage pregnancies in the US could be avoided if the kids could afford a morning after contraceptive. Recently a school in the US made it avaialble in vending machines at a subsidized rate of $20. There was a massive hue and cry about it and still less than 10% of the kids can afford it anyway.

Now, irrespective of your financial state, I am certain 90% of Indians can afford a 100 rupee morning after contraceptive. Perspective.

Earlier, till the 90s, almost all Indians would fit your categorization.

Today, a certain segment of Indians does not fit your categorization. The NehruGandhi era "phoren obsession" has reduced to a remarkable degree among a segment of the population. This will only continue as the years progress.

You and I, and many others on DFI, are examples of those who wouldn't give even a drop of piss, let alone a hand and leg, to emigrate to the West. Or would you?

People in the US want to migrate to else where to - I don't think so.
They like Canada or the West board or California - California is in the USA.

Actually we are in the process of migrating almost all of the upper middle class to western countries. Another reason why politicians don't give a crap about them and focus on poor class votes.

RML Hospital is considered one of India's best

If Americans and Brits are covered so well by healthcare, why do they come to India for their surgical procedures, cancer treatments etc? You do know that Medical tourism in India is already a 2 billion dollar industry right? Or have you been living on Mars, your awesomeness?

do you know the Britain healthcare system? Do you know their citizens don't pay for healthcare that the govt provides it for all? do you know how these one off ridiculous examples look when you put them up as the sign for good quality and care of the heath care system in Britain vs India? Okay- let me ask you a simple question: why did sonia gandhi come to the US for her medical procedure?

Your insurance companies refuse to insure your elders. Your health care system is rubbish for the poor on critical care. Arun Sandhukha, Indian Man, Dies After Penis Allegedly Bitten Off By Rats ( look I got one of examples too! )
JayATL: you are too stubborn to admit to learning something new.

If you go to a government hospital in rural India, you will see shitty healthcare. If you go to Manipal hospital in Bangalore, you will get better healthcare than most Western hospitals.

Health care system in India is obviously rubbish for the poor in India. That wasn't what we were discussing, were we? Why are you bringing that up now? Makes no sense, does it?

Oklahoma Woman Travels To India For Inexpensive Surgery

CHANDLER, Oklahoma -

It's a growing trend, Oklahomans jet setting to exotic locations such as Turkey, Mexico and Thailand - not for a vacation, but for surgery.

An Oklahoma woman saved tens of thousands of dollars -- and possibly her life -- through the booming industry of medical tourism.

Overweight most of her life and up to 350 pounds, Jan Neufeld knew she had to do something about it.

"When you're that heavy, you worry about things nobody else would think of," Jan Neufeld said. "You worry before you sit in a chair. Will that chair hold me?"

Neufeld knew she needed to have gastric bypass surgery, but she couldn't afford the $40,000 price tag here in Oklahoma. That's when a friend told Neufeld she could have the surgery done in India for about a quarter of the cost. And the results are astounding.

"It was scary to even think about it, but a light of hope," Neufeld said.

Hope for millions of people all over the world looking for less expensive ways to have heart, joint, even cosmetic surgery. In fact, medical tourism is a $100,000,000,000 industry worldwide.

More than 50 countries consider it part of their economy. After extensive research, Neufeld was sold. She hopped on a plane and took the 26-hour flight to Mumbai, India.

Known for its slums, she was impressed with the hospital and staff.

"Beautiful! Beautiful! Marble Floors," she said. "The doctors. They are so kind and gentle and they took such good care of me. After the surgery, I was afraid they didn't do it. I didn't have any pain."

While Neufeld didn't have any problems, the possibility concerns local bariatric surgeon Doctor Russell Gornichec.

"God forbid they have a complication on an 18-hour plane trip from Southeast Asia," Dr. Gornichec said. "Obviously that offsets any financial benefit they got."

Doctor Gornichec says before considering going to another country for surgery:

Make sure you get support from your primary care physician
Understand the risks
And know the names of local specialists who will see you for after-care, if needed

Now 185 pounds lighter, Neufeld says the risks were worth it.

"There is hope. So many people say they can't afford surgery," Jan said. "This surgery is the best thing that's happened to me. It's given me my life back."

Neufeld, her mom and two friends just returned from India for more surgery. It was Neufeld's third trip. This time, she had about 15 pounds of excess skin removed, because of her weight loss.

Precisely! :thumb:

He won't answer this question - he will go off on a tangent now. :tsk:

The 2 billion industry is projected to grow much much bigger over the next few years.

Middle Class Indians always have it better than UK. Because the house sizes are similar but we have more perks.
