In all probability here is what will happen to Rafael in this fighter jet competition.....

They fail to deliver Kaveri as promised = No further order, 2Sqn will be used by Strategic Forces Command

Kaveri Delivered as Promised = 2 More Sqn equipped with Kaveri Engine or 1 Sqn in current Config.

Kaveri Delivered + Help on 120Kn+ K10 = 2-4 Sqn more with Kaveri engine for IAF

Kaveri + K10 + Nuke Reactor + AMCA + GaN Help = 3 Sqn of Rafael M + 4 SQn for IAF + Project 75i...

In simple words it's for Rafael to loose the contest.... if France plays along no other fighter will come in play, we may have joint AMCA & Tejas Mk-II. We may see Tejas MK-II being jointly marketed too....

True but yet, Rafale is found wanting against even Su-30 MKI and so, against Su-35S,.Rafale would be cannon fodder. So its between cannon fodder like Rafale or Su-35S which can make a stalemate vs the Chinese Su-35S and well, since India would be ordering more. There are better chances for India getting on top

its not about logic its about the critical condition of IAF & condition of india , we want strong relation with usa but we cant loss russia & at last IAF is very very bad shape fighter planes are getting old & crashing like mango form tree.

Its all about to give more power to IAF ore jobs to Indian market .

iaf believe s that after super sukhoi up gradation our sukhois will be will be good ...not as su 35 though...and we need medium category fighters we have enough sukhois.....,. and pakis don't have money for su 35....they are happy with jf17...

You have to do something to upgrade MKI, you can't just leave it in the current state. Putting in Su-35 engines and radar shouldn't be too costly. It will also need a software update to incorporate new weapons.The addition of a new block upgrade is long overdue.

How will getting 100 Su35s help the 300 Su30MKI??? Will 300 Su30MKI 'bloom' into Su35s by staying in Su35 company??

Irrespective of which new aircraft is bought, Su30MKI SHOULD be upgraded with new engines/avionics!!!

We want up gradation of SU30 MKI to counter J20 & Chinese su35 but after up gradation our so called super sukio will not come close to su35 .

we should invest in future technology , well i think we should buy su35 and rest go for 5 th gen planes .

every country is making 5th gen planes & hyper sonic missile but we are investing in past we are wasting our time / money resources in past & what we will gain noting because still after up gradation super sukio will not stand against Chinese su35 .

IAF need 120 fighter planes on urgent mode to secure India . we have 2 option either give order to one single company or divide the order to hit many target .

Su 35 is heavyweight and like su 30 only .

Rafale is too costly.

Gripen is also costly even though less than Rafale.

F 16 is known to Pakistan inside out as they have been using it for decades .

Mig 29 has the bad fuel guzzling rd 33 engine .

Eurofighter too costly.

So best is f 18 . Can be used from aircraft carriers also . Reasonably priced . So can be bought in numbers.
