It's been 4 years since I got my laptop with blue ray drive. Laptop cost was more and so was its weight because of blue ray.
NEVER used it! Hopefully you will do!

@Singh,

Can you please give your honest opinion about Windows 8?

Do you like it? Does it have glitches? Is it user friendly? Also, is there a steep adjustment curve?

Windows 8 sucks big time. Even 8.1 isn't that big of a deal. As long as you don't use windows app button, it is ok. Driver support is better. OS is somewhat buggy. It even hangs and nightmare to work even with the 4th gen core i7 quad with a dedicated graphics card. Seems slow to me. User friendly? Far from it. I am getting sick of it already

I am not a big fan of Windows 8 but it is better than Windows 7.

Not a steep learning curve if you are a Windows user.

Windows 8.1 is amazingly fast and gives a smooth experience compared to Windows 7.
Boot time is like ~20 sec even on a very slow 5200rpm SATA and (i have heard) is about ~8sec for a SSD. I think the most important thing for a portable PC is the battery life and Windows 8 trumps Windows 7 by a huge margin in this category because of better management of resources. I get around 9-10h with a 6-cell battery.
