Which gun will replace INSAS as next standard assault rifle?

There were news about tenders for 5 foreign vendors last November and Mr.Saraswath said indigenous Multi-caliber guns are undergoing trials.

-Since he said the gun is on trial(Already developed) it wont take much time to get into production after clearance.
-So why army went for foreign vendors?
-Any pics of that multi-caliber gun? I badly want to see that.

I personally feel a country's armed forces should have their own standard rifle.
