A completely balkanised pakistan of four states is the solution in India's best interests. Which would establish Indian hegemony onto south asia to bring states like myanmar, Bangladesh, srilanka and to less extent Iran fall in line from dilly dallying the chinese side. But, whether we like it or not there are US and Chinese interests that require an unified pakistan like TAPI pipeline and afghanistan entrance for US, IPC pipeline, Gwadar, Karkoram for China.
Unless we are prepared to hold off a direct chinese onslaught both on Land, Air and Sea by submarines seeking to support Pakistans war effort and US diplomatic coercion accompanied by sanction on spares for our military effort, add to that economic havoc that would rise from capital flight, stock market crash, soaring price of supplies leading to rampant inflation, cut off of gas supply from TAPI and perhaps Agosta sinking of Indian oil tankers.
