It's now established. Vodafone India is funneling call records to British Int. agencies. Take advantage of MNP and move to Indian networks. Also, here's a list of Indian cellular carriers, and their foreign partnerships:
  • AirTel: Partnered with SingTel (Singapore)
  • AirCel: Majority owned by Maxis (Malaysia)
  • BSNL Cellone and MTNL Dolphin: Truly Indian, state-owned
  • Reliance Comminications: 100% Reliance ADAG, Indian
  • Vodafone: British, with proven links to British intelligence agencies
  • TATA DoCoMo: Partnered with NTT DoCoMo (Japan)
  • Uninor: Partnered with Telenor (Norway)
  • Idea Cellular: Partnered with Axita (Malaysia) and Providence Equity (USA)
So of all these, Reliance Communications and BSNL/MTNL are the only operators with no foreign institutional ownership. Take advantage of Mobile Number Portability (MNP), and switch carriers!

But what do we do? Reliance is a chor company, and BSNL/MTNL are sarkari sloths!
BSNL Cellone is pretty decent, and they've got over the call-drop issues years ago. Its 3G data tariffs are among the lowest in the country. Also, as a sarkari company, they're obligated to install coverage even in parts of the country that no private carrier finds viable to their business. So you'll find coverage even in the far-reaches of Ladakh. What's more, BSNL post-paid bills can be used as address-proof.

Reliance Jio will roll-out Pan-India 4G voice and data by this year end. Data rates will be multiple times lower than current Airtel plans. I will be first one to switch to them if its as good as they claim. OT but they use Samsung base stations instead of Huawei, so no worries about Chinese spying on you either.
