What population boom? AFAIK , Russia is actually suffering from negative population growth, isn't it? How exactly is Russia going to be a threat in the future? Russia's only importance of now is as a energy supplier with a huge MIC. The erosion of influence of Russia is all but inevitable.
But whether that is good for the world is of course debatable. We don't want USA to concentrate on containing asia instead of being distracted by Russia. That's for sure.
But Russia is not Asian by any measure. They still consider themselves to be Europeans and rightly so.
There is no Russian population boom. Although it is growing. I'm not talking about a direct boom like China's and India's, more so a potential. Russia is unbelievably sparsely populated. There is a lot of room to grow. I don't know about you but I think a lot of Europe's economic decline/stagnation has to do with the fact that they simply can't expand anymore. They are overcorwded.
17th - 21st century belonged to the Whites. In my eyes, sparsely populated Russia with CIS countries is just white-supremacy taking a "break". Put in 2+ billion people there and they'll be at it again.
