BANNU: Frustrated against unannounced load shedding, residents of Bannu stormed Wapda Colony and burnt the entire record at the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) office on Monday, Geo News reported.

Infuriated over unannounced load shedding in Bannu the crowd surrounded Wapda Colony on Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan Road and pelted stones on houses breaking windows and damaging property.

Some armed men who were also part of the protest continued aerial firing during the demonstration, while the police seemed helpless before the protesters.

PESCO presents a different story

Meanwhile a PESCO spokesman claimed that the people were protesting against removal of illegal connection by the authority and not over load shedding.

He further added, that 97% of electricity theft occurred from one feeder in Bannu.
