It isn't monetarily feasible to preserve. What they should do is name the lead class of CVX after it, not some nobody like Gerald Ford.

CVN 21 to be named USS Enterprise
As for the future, the name Enterprise, which has already been worn by eight American buildings, will continue. Saturday, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus announced that the third new aircraft carrier CVN 21 is the type named USS Enterprise.
