There should be no sympathy for usa here what so ever.

Even right now they are supporting these same groups in syria.

The black flag that LF pointed out is hoisted over every vehicle by the rebels in syria. The yanks have no moral high ground on this. If you think they are barbarians then why are you supporting them ? why did you support them over gaddafi ? When gaddafi said he was fighting al-qaeda you all laughed and showed the rebels are freedom fighters. Suck on it now!

Afghanistan, iraq, libya, syria, egypt. In all these countries there was no chest thumping al-quida fanatics hoisting there flags openly without any fear of getting captured but came only after interference from usa.

Snark flies in US Embassy-Brotherhood Twitter spat

CAIRO (AP) — The snark is flying between the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and the Muslim Brotherhood in a Twitter spat that erupted in the wake of an assault on the mission by protesters in the Egyptian capital.
The sarcastic exchange Thursday gave a "frenemies" tone to relations that have been strained by the Tuesday night action. In the assault, hundreds of protesters angry over an anti-Islam film climbed up the wall of the embassy in downtown Cairo, entered the grounds, pulled down the American flag and replaced it with a black, Islamist banner. Security forces did nothing to stop them.
The embassy's tweets implied that the Brotherhood, whose longtime member Mohammed Morsi is Egypt's new president, has been sending mixed messages, fueling public anger over the movie.
It started when Ikhwanweb, the Twitter page of the Muslim Brotherhood, retweeted a message in English from the group's deputy head, Khairat el-Shater.
"We r relieved none of (at)USEmbassyCairo staff were harmed & hope US-Eg relations will sustain turbulence of Tuesday's events."
"Thanks," the embassy replied. "By the way, have you checked out your own Arabic feeds? I hope you know we read those too."
"We understand you're under a lot of stress," came the Ikhwanweb retort, "but still it will be more helpful if you point out exactly the Arabic feed of concern."
"Guys guys! stop! take it outside please..." came the plea from Abdelrahman Ghareeb, one of many tweeters who weighed in in amusement over the exchange.
There was no immediate counter-tweet from the embassy.
The Brotherhood has put out statements in Arabic and English saying the breaching of the grounds was unacceptable, while insisting Egyptians have the right to demonstrate peacefully over the film, which it strongly denounced. It has also urged the U.S. to prevent any showings of the film, which denigrates Islam's Prophet Muhammad — reflecting the demand of many of the protesters.
Tuesday's protest, which was not called by the Brotherhood, was dominated by ultraconservative Islamists.
The U.S. has seemed impatient with Morsi's response to the violence. The Islamist president made no public comment beyond a vague Facebook posting until Thursday, after he spoke with President Barack Obama. He then condemned the attack while also harshly criticizing the movie.
"We condemn strongly ... all those who launch such provocations and who stand behind that hatred," Morsi said, adding that he had asked Obama "to put an end to such behavior."

We tried that untill 911 when 3000 americans were murdered in cold blood.. and started World War III, thats one of the differences Americas realizes its in a war India does not. Do you know how you eat an elephant, the same way muslims are consumeing India, one bite at a time.
Simply put - America is pro-active in asserting its interests and values the lives of its citizens while India (with its fuddu fake pacifism) does not.

Sure some times things blowback - but because they blow back there is no point in leaving the business altogether. You just need to change tack. America needs to do that. Just change its tack.

The USSR was a Socialist country founded on Marxist principles, but yet, at the end of the day, it was a Western Civilization, that gave equality to women, education, scientific research, social order, and not murder, mayhem, subjugation of women, like the Mujahideen that the US supported. 9/11 was an aftermath of the Cold War
No body is forgetting the gulags, the political oppression, forced demographic changes, the re-settlements etc. They brought in an artificial social "order" or zombie state through brute suppression and brainwashing of masses. The other side of the coin.

U.S. Embassy Calls Out Muslim Brotherhood Over Twitter

The U.S. embassy in Cairo called out the Muslim Brotherhood on Twitter over differences between English and Arabic tweets about violent protests against an anti-Islamic video.

The Muslim Brotherhood's official English-language Twitter account @Ikwanweb reposted a message from the group's deputy head, Khairat El-Shater, saying he was:

"relieved none of @USembassycairo staff was hurt" and expressing his desire that relations withstand the "turbulence" of events.
...

The Brotherhood's Arabic feed included messages that praised the protests, such as "Egyptians revolt for the Prophet's victory in front of U.S. embassy."

Out of context. Read, read, and read - and understand.

It was said in the context of the Soviet-Mujahideen War in Afghanistan, not in the context of the October Revolution. There were no gulags during Gorbachev's times, neither any of the guttersnipes you mentioned. If you want to take the discussion back to 1917, even I can take it back to the US Civil War.

Try to stay on the context, and if you have difficulty understanding that, ask.

CAIRO: Egypt's tourism industry was down 80 percent during the last period, the country Tourism Minister Munir Fakhry Abdel Nour said in an interview with al-Dostour newspaper. Bet its a hundred percent now.....there was a big business delegation in egypt but they headed back to the states I expect they cant wait to invest in Egypt, and there are already congressman screaming about US giving Egypt 2 billion a year. If this keeps up I think we should give it to Israel

On one side is an arrogant imperialist superpower who is used to breaking all sorts of laws to get what it wants, on the other are religious fanatics and terrorist ideologues who would slaughter their own families to prove their piety.

Hard to support either one. All we can do is pray that both their victims RIP.

Yep that arrogant imperialist superpower that dont want its embassys looted and its ambassors kill,, real unreasonable especially over a 14 minute clip from a movie that looks like it was made by an Egyptian.

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths, we dont engage in wholesale slaughter of each other over religion as we see in Islamic countries. Yet here we have muslims tortureing and murdering americans over religion. In most muslims countries like Egypt you have to have your religion on your ID,,,

The US didn't even have equal rights for all its citizens until 1968, while the Indian constitution provided for that in 1947.

The role of the US in countless foreign conflicts is well known, not just in instigating and arming terrorists/militants/whatever to destablising countries because they don't toe US interests. India has herself experienced "nuclear blackmail" by the US during the Bangladesh war in 1971. Guess what, three years later we had our own nukes.

Unfortunately, US propaganda in India is not strong enough to hide reality from us. The US pursues its perceived interests ruthlessly without caring for international laws or conventions-your secretary of state even ordered that UN representatives from foreign nations be spied upon violating the diplomatic sanctity of the UN buildings!

That's not to excuse the behaviour of the Jihadi extremists you are fighting though. In this conflict, there is no preferred winner.

Soviet-style forced atheism can do wonders for the Middle East, just as it did for Central Asia.

Sometimes, the best way to deal with a chronic illness is through shock therapy.
