It's strange that the USA is willing to work against its own interest, by forfeiting the influence it exercises through UN bodies, if the interest of Israel is hampered.

Besides the world is kinda saturated with US influence, anyway.

Hmm not really; these bodies are used to exercise soft influence on civilian populations and institutions.
Of course it doesn't come cheap. India contributes/aka buys tiny quantities of aforementioned influence by paying tiny quantities.

Entire UN needs reforms. It's been a lackey of the west but ironically it's not working for USA anymore.

From Indian perspective UN needs to collapse. Without that happening india won't find it's right full place.

New products can also be introduced and old products can be shelved.
Capitalism is a wonderful thing . The only constant is change.

UNSC reform are not going to happen anytime soon Chinese have a veto and they will use it against us. Others will gladly blame china but do nothing by themselves.

UNSC is already worthless in case you didn't notice. NoKo problem is out of UNSC control. So was the Isis. Iran deal involved Germany which is not a unsc member.

We must work overtime to make UN disfunctional so that change becomes the only option. A new security architecture which includes India at a premium position as world's most populous country and third largest economy ( both by 2024).

On another note .if an India USA strategic alliance actually takes shape it will be single most powerful security arrangement in the entire world.
World is again going to be divided into blocks china Russia led block with pakistan , NoKo , Turkey Italy type countries. A neutral Europe with Germany France . A pimp Britain which will try to work for both USA and China.

And USA India led alliance with Japan soko and maybe Australia.

Cold war is back in business. Just different players .

Like your reading of a possible situation in the future. But might i remind you that US works for its own advantage, and India no matter its soft power stature cannot in its right mind engage with US as it works counterproductive to its regional aspirations. No matter the odds with China , it is still our largest Trade partner , one cannot alienate china and hope to be a pillar of strength with the US which is a diabolical state in itself.

My reading of Trump is that he wants to aspire to become a leader of considerable standing in the world and he works based on his Gut feeling which is formulated by the inputs he receives from his advisors who seem to be changing quite often. Hence the force posturing with NoKo and overtures by his SecOfState with India are what i think to be is just an eyewash. China has more clout in the world and no matter how many Hollywood movies potray US to come and save the day, its gonna be China all the way in the future.

Hence India cannot afford to be pussilanimous with China and end up siding with US led group. It should carve out a niche for itself in the comity of worlds. Let its strength be shown to the world not merely in Economy and Defence but in every sphere .
