I have come from the north eastern state of Meghalaya, India, the Scotland of the East.

Born (and now studying) in W. Bengal.

Some lesser known facts about my homeland:
  • Wettest inhabited (and second wettest) place on the planet
  • Place of origin of citrus
  • Longest caves in the country
  • Only place to find living root bridges
  • It's the world's largest group of matrilineal societies

Ask me if you want to know more about me and my homeland <3.

My 3 years old self visited Shillong, Cherrapunji etc with my parents long time ago. So most of my memories of that trip is through the photographs my parents took. Though I do vaguely remember some part of it especially
Nohkalikai and Kynrem Falls and how scared I was when my older brother put me up in his shoulders so that I can have a better look. Those hills still call out to me and beckon me to visit them again, which I am definitely keen on.

Having been born and spent almost 14 years of my childhood there, my heart still yearns to revisit and relive the beautiful and mesmerizing North East.

I've seen the bridges in pictures. Have you been? How many of those are there? Also, completely natural? Noone aligned the roots towards a particular direction?

I actually haven't travelled there yet but my friends say they are mesmerizing.

I belive some of them are natural but the tribesfolk helped give them shape.
