Terror suspects and criminals to be stripped of human rights - Telegraph

Terrorists, criminals and illegal immigrants will be prevented from hiding behind human rights to avoid deportation under plans being drawn up by the Conservatives for the election.
Senior party lawyers are working on a bill of rights that would stop "family life" grounds being used to avoid being expelled from the UK.
The draft bill, to replace the Human Rights Act, would also allow British judges to ignore rulings made by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, The Times reported.
These include the outlawing of a bans on prisoner voting and police trade unions, and restrictions on whole-life terms for murderers.
Last week The Sunday Telegraph disclosed how a convicted al-Qaeda terror fundraiser with links to the Paris attacks is residing in the UK after using the Human Rights Act to prevent his deportation back to his native Algeria.

Baghdad Meziane, who was jailed for 11 years in 2003 for running a terror support network, has successfully staved off Home Office attempts to deport him – despite the Government's repeated insistence that he constitutes "a danger to the community of the United Kingdom".
Meziane was a close associate of Djamel Beghal, a convicted terrorist who mentored two of the Paris attackers while they were in jail together.
The Home Office has attempted to remove Meziane, a father of two children born in the UK, for almost six years following his release from jail in 2009.
However, it has been thwarted by Meziane's claim that his deportation would breach his human right to a family life and that he might face torture if sent home.
If passed, the draft bill would prevent family life from being raised in deportation cases other than in the most "exceptional and unforeseen" circumstances.
Martin Howe, QC, and Lord Howard of Lympne, the former home secretary, are believed to be working on the bill.
It would ensure that trade union membership in the police can be banned, and would overturn a series of controversial decisions on prisoner voting rights.

Re: UK bill:No Human rights for illegal immigrants, terrorists & Crimi

hmm... some sanity returning?

Actually, the modern society has gone bonkers with holy human rights. There should be a criteria of morality to be met for being considered a human in the first place. Why should a terrorist or a serial killer have any human rights, as they don't adhere to basic tenets of humanity - like respect and compassion for fellow human?
