You mean the reforms this govt is proposing like minimum wage laws and other anti business friendly laws?
I mean IF these reforms are done. I know fully well it's not a guarantee. And even if they were to do reforms, they would not go the full extent because of the storm all the unions would create.

Will the bhakthals here at least now accept what I said from very beginning that the GST was a good idea but implemented badly at very high rates:lol:
Why don't you give something thats useful instead ? Tell us what stock to buy for this series. Will surely take you seriously if it works out.

We live in the interesting times. With elections coming up and people memory to be set there ought to be good announcements going ahead. The world economy also needs to be observed.

Rahul Gandhi promises 'minimum income guarantee' to poor if Congress wins 2019 LS polls

Minimum income of Rs 7600! Here goes our economy if the Congis ever come to power. This clown has not said anything about job creation but has promised to give out doles. No work. Stay at home and enjoy! Eg, a family of four will get Rs 30,000 without doing an iota of work!! First it was MGNREGA - a hole digging and covering exercise. And now its 'pay' for NO work!! Wow!

RaGa tweeted: “Congress has decided to provide minimum income to the poor. The poor will get a minimum income directly into their bank account".

Where's the money? Is it from tax payers money who get their asses whipped working 16 hours a day and that effort going into bankrolling the freeloaders? The saying once was - no work, no pay. Now it's going to be - no work full pay!

Positive point is we may not see beggars on the road anymore as they will be given a stipend of over Rs 7600 per beggar per month!! :biggrin2: But of course, they will need to open a bank account first!

Almost Rs 3 lakh crores down the drain every year - and no assets created!

Next? Free travel anywhere in India, a Hawaiian vacation every two years for all (which includes my maid too!!), free electricity and water, free 2BHK for a family of 4 and a 3BHK for a family of 6, free food.......

Seriously, WTF is going on?

Sounds like Pappu is worried about Modi's DBT scheme which is coming up soon. Main focus is rural which Modi has focused upon already.

SC refers petition against recital of Sanskrit prayers in Kendriya Vidyalayas to Constitution Bench
PTI |Published: 29th January 2019 01:47 AM

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Monday referred to a Constitution Bench the question whether compulsory recitation of morning prayers in Sanskrit by students of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), irrespective of faith and beliefs, violates their fundamental right.

A bench of Justices R F Nariman and Vineet Saran said the question would be examined by a Constitution Bench and referred the matter to Chief Justice of India for listing it before a larger bench.

"We think this is an issue of importance and a Constitution Bench should examine it," the bench said.

The apex court was hearing a petition filed by Jabalpur-based advocate Veenayak Shah who has challenged the compulsory recitation of morning prayers in Sanskrit by students of KVs across the country.

During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, said that meaning of Sanskrit 'shlokas' is a universal truth and merely because it is written in Sanskrit, it does not make it communal.

To this, Justice Nariman said that the Sanskrit 'shlokas' referred to were taken from the Upanishads.

Mehta said that emblem in every courtroom of the Supreme Court has written "Yato Dharma Stato Jaya" which has been taken from the Mahabharata.

"This does not mean that the Supreme Court is religious", he said.

The bench then said that let the issue be examined by a larger bench.

Besides Shah, a Muslim body, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, has also challenged in the apex court the Revised Education Code for KV Sangathan with regard to compulsory recitation of common prayer.

"The prayer is being enforced throughout the country in all Kendra Vidyalayas. As a result, parents and children of the minority communities as well as atheist and others who do not agree with this system of prayer such as agnostics, sceptics, rationalists and others would find the imposition of this prayer constitutionally impermissible," Shah said in his petition.

His counsel sought direction from the court to forthwith discontinue any form of prayers from morning assembly or otherwise in KV Sangathans and to promote scientific learning among the students.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has said in its plea that the matter involves a question whether the prescribed common prayer stipulated the Revised Education Code for KV Sangathans is in consonance with the personal laws of the minority communities including the Muslim community.

The petition, filed through advocate Ejaz Maqbool, said that the common prayer prescribed in the Revised Education Code for KVs is inspired from Hinduism and added that even though such a prayer is not in consonance with many other faiths, all the students irrespective of their faiths and beliefs have to compulsorily recite.

"The said code by mandating recitation of a common prayer which was based on a particular religion is clearly violative of the Article 25 of the Constitution," said the plea of the Muslim body while seeking to be implead it as a party in the case.

The Kendriya Vidyalayas are a system of Central Government schools in India which were instituted under the aegis of the Ministry Of Human Resource Development.

The network expands to about 1,125 schools, ensuring a uniform curriculum and syllabus all over India, thus making it one of world's largest chain of schools.

These schools have been operational for over 50 years now.

On January 10 last year, the apex court had sought response from the Centre on the plea filed by Shah.

The plea has contended that the morning assembly prayer was being enforced throughout the country in all the KVs, which are also known as Central Schools.

It said that the practise of prayer created obstacles in developing scientific temperament among students as the whole idea of God and religious faith is given immense priority and instilled as a thought-process among the students.

"Students, as a result, learn to develop an inclination towards seeking refuge from the almighty instead of developing a practical outcome towards the obstacles and hurdles faced in everyday life, and the spirit of enquiry and reform seems to be lost somewhere," the plea said.

The petition also said that since the prayer is being enforced, the parents and children of the minority communities, as well as atheists and others, find the imposition constitutionally impermissible.

Shah in his plea also submitted before the court that the common prayer is a "religious instruction" within the meaning of Article 28 of the Constitution and should therefore be prohibited.

Article 28(1) of the Constitution says that no religious instruction should be provided in any educational institution wholly maintained out of state funds.

"A perusal of the prayer shows that it is based on Hindu religion and it is very different both in substance and form from the prayers of the other religious/non-religious orientations mentioned above.

"The issue that arises therefore is whether the state may impose the above mentioned "common prayer" on students and teachers throughout the country," the plea said.

Make suitable amendment in constitution if required to avoid such sort of nonsense and wasting the court's time.

:hehe:

The whole judiciary is a waste of India's time.

The choice of cases and the priority given to them are completely arbitrary and based on miladr's whims that day. They don't have a timeline of resolution and more importantly, their income isn't decided based on how productive their work is. There are so many pending cases but Yakoob Menon's case gets a midnight hearing. Prashant bhushan's cases get priority treatment and when Army veterans filed some case about pension dues, and other issues, they get stuck forever. The courts meddled in Army issues and forced the Army to take AFSPA cases be heard in the civilian court instead of military court. Now the court has the jurisdiction/time to decide whether to repeal AFSPA or not? Does a "busy" court behave that way? instead of clearing the 3 crore pending cases, they are dragging other people to courts for timepass.

In fact, me thinks that only nonsense cases must be taken to the court. Important cases must be resolved either by the Parliamentary route or departmental "guidelines" level. The courts love rambling about theoretical issues. Keep them busy with that. Someone should file a PIL saying that national song mentions Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat but Sindh is not a part of India, so should we annex Sindh or should we mute the national song? This is an earth-shattering issue that demand's milard's immediate attention.

India's unemployment rate hit four-decade high of 6.1% in 2017-18, says NSSO survey
BusinessToday.In | New Delhi, Thursday, January 31, 2019 | 12:05 IST

The latest data on unemployment in India, which is yet to come in public domain, is the first comprehensive survey on employment conducted by a government agency after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation.
  • For instance, the rate of joblessness among rural males in the age group of 15-29 years jumped more than three folds to 17.4 per cent in 2017-18 versus 5 per cent in 2011-12. In case of female youth in rural areas, unemployment rate stood at 13.6 per cent in 2017-18 as compared to 4.8 per cent in 2011-12.
"The youth is moving away from the agriculture sector as it is becoming less remunerative and moving to urban areas. On the sectoral front, construction sector, which was one of the biggest employers in urban areas, witnessed a major turmoil in the sector," the news agency quoted Madan Sabnavis, chief economist at Care Ratings as saying.

In a similar trend, the labour force participating rate (LFPR) --the portion of the population working or seeking job -declined from 36.9 per cent in 2017-18 as against 39.5 per cent in 2011-12.
The NSSO report on job data has been at the centre of much controversy after two non-governmental members of the National Statistical Commission (NSC), PC Mohanan and JV Meenakshi, stepped down on Monday amid 'disagreements' with the government over the functioning of the commission. "We have resigned from the NSC. Over the months, we have been feeling that we were not been taken seriously and being sidelined by the government. Recent decisions of the NSC were not being implemented," PC Mohanan told the leading daily.
