The Upanishads have been the most intellectually & spiritually enriching texts since ancient times. The Ramakrishna Mission in particular has dedicated to unraveling its message to humanity and promote spirituality in people. The following video is an apt start to this thread and members are free to discuss and share ideas, debate, criticize and enlighten themselves. ~ Tat Tvam Asi

Let us start with Vedas....

They are definitions of The Things.

Next, Upanishads . . . .

They are detailed explanation of the earlier definitions.

Next comes Stories. . . .

They are examples of the above theories.

Next comes practice. . . . .

Bam . . . . Now you become God.

You were not 'God' before that?

Then what is the procedure of becoming one, otherwise what in the above Vedas, Upanishads, stories and practices helps you become one?
Glad you asked me. . .

There are two things.
One is internal universe and another is external universe.

These two are same things. If you can master one thing , other comes along with it.

Now comes the practice.

You are already divine. "Religion is the manifestation of Divinity already in man."

Kumar: Can a person become "Godlike" and be worshiped alike God? How can a person become "Godlike"? Which qualities he should have to be treated as "Godlike"?

Swami Ramswarup: If a person can be a God then why not he can create, nurse and destroy the universe. I.e., man can never be a God, please. How a man can be omnipresent, omniscient and almighty?
Vedanta is false. God and man (Ishwar and jeev) are two different entities. Better we go back to the study of Veda and find the truth.

Veda and Vedanta are two totally different philosophies. A number of ignorant preachers are spreading falsehoods in the society. Since the number of Vedic people is too low, it has not been possible to effectively counter this Vedanta propaganda.

The answers to all questions is already present in the Vedas; and no other book needs to be studied to understand the truth.

Vedanta, as the name suggests, is the end of the vedas, a summary or a corollary or an application of veda inspired ideas if you will..

No it is not.

Vedanta is a confused philosophy brought out by confused minds in rather recent times.

Hi sounding words look great to today's confused ignorant Hindus. This is the only truth.

Study Vedas. Excellent translation available (Sanskrit to Hindi) by Swami Dayanand Saraswati and others from Arya Press. Buy the whole set (10 books) and study in your spare time.

Vedanta is the commentary or synthesis of Vedas.

It is difficult to understand the very essence of Vedas for majority so Updanishads or Vedantas are written.

That is your opinion and it can be totally wrong.

Vedas are Sanskrit scriptures of Hinduism and Vedanta is a specific Hindu religious philosophy.

Vedas are too hard for common men to understand, specially in Kaliyuga.

If someone understand Vedas perfectly and live accordingly it then also it will take extremely long long time to achieve the final destination.

That is why Naradji requested Krishna Dwaipayana Vyasa to form Shrimad Bhagwat.

Shrimad Bhagwat will cut it short.
