Madarasa means a place where learning or teaching is done. It is usually attached to a mosque where students learn Islamic and other subjects from a Muslim teacher or cleric. The Orgram Chatuspalli High Madarsa located in Burdwan district in India's Eastern state of West Bengal is different. Children from all over the district and near by areas, come to the Madarsa irrespective of their religion. Life Sciences, Geography, History, Mathematics, English and Bengali subjects are taught to students from Class five to ten. Many non-Muslims also enroll in the Madarsa to avail educational facilities that not to be found in the area. Here one can find Muslim pupils learning Sanskrit and Hindu pupils learning Arabic as well. Good to see this kind of development, tolerance needs to be taught from childhood onwards. Atleast India is not constraining muslims children not to go to Mosque or Madarsa if he is below 18 years fearing they will become terrorists.
