Indian Blue Helmets deployed in a MONUSCO base in Kiwanja in Eastern DR Congo (DRC) intervened to douse major fire in a crowded market in Kiwanja town. On receiving information of the fire, Quick Reaction Team responded immediately with firefighting equipment and water bowsers. The medical staff with the rescue team provided first aid to the injured. The timely action by the peacekeepers averted a major accident and ensured that there was no loss of life. The #IndianArmy deployed under the UN Flag is committed towards providing every possible support to locals anytime.
