U.S. naval power isn't going anywhere. The rate of expansion may have slowed down somewhat, but the U.S. continues to maintain the world's most powerful navy in both quantitative and qualitative terms. The eleven nuclear supercarriers of the USN carry more strike power than all but the most advanced air forces of other nations.

It won't be until a very long time that China or India can come close to matching the USN's naval power, even on a local/regional scale.
