I admit China is like a monster now for a lot of people regardless if they received biased or unbiased media propaganda. I just want to tell one point that most SAE are actually benefit more from China by maintaining a stable and balance relationship like Singapore did. Historically China has never invaded majority SAE countries like Japan did, or made any crimes at Japanese magnitude. On the contrary, most SAE economies were built by immigrant Chinese. China may look like a bully today. But this bully and a world bully called US both have its bright and ugly sides. Be careful to play with one bully to against another bully.
Do you think China is a bully towards Taiwan, or behaving properly? I would like to hear your opinion about the future relationship there.

I think Taiwan people have their rights to choose if they want to unite with mainland or not. But mainland people also have a say if they want Taiwan to break out or not since Taiwan is a province of former Republic of China which they still use the same name today. It's just like if Texas wants to break out of United States, it is probably not determined by Texans only.
However, Taiwan should not answer to current Chinese government. They choose a different society and system which is drastically different from mainland. If I were living in Taiwan I would not choose to unite with mainland simply because I would not live under that system. Taiwan and mainland has more chance to reunite under a democratic, free system versus under an autocratic system.

Absolutely true. The whole country went to war after South Carolina seceded in 1860. But quite a few Texans would happily secede today.

That's very true too. Today's America is still rich and prosperous like a magnetic attracting people around the world. However, America's success is built upon hard work and entrepreneurship. If you let socialist like Obama and his democratic comrades to take over and transfer the country into a European welfare style, America will lose all her attractions and go down into the drain.

Good point. Socialism and shared property makes sense where you have a huge population and scarce resources. America is still abundant in natural resources and land and there is no need for socialism. Implementing socialism here, which although well intentioned, has created a section of people who like to live as bums, living off food stamps and somehow managing to survive. Now don't get me started on the housing bubble debacle.

Yes, the country will go down the drain if Obamanomics keeps stretching the rubber. I like his idea of building high speed trains and cash-for-clunkers deals; but eventually, this country needs to (1) reduce overuse of personal vehicles (2) cut down on the welfare system so that people have the urge to get up and work. This is, of course, my personal opinion.

I'm not a complete Obama or Democratic Party hater. I'm just leaning more toward Republican for now. I actually like those people who respect science and personal freedom, and dislike those people who think God and religion should be written into constitution.
But meantime I just tired of welfare where 47% of population pays no tax and a lot of them live on food stamp but fat and lazy. And these folks are what Obama wants and they like Obama too. American people have given nearly 3 years for Obama to perform but change didn't happen. It's time for board to choose another CEO

You and I are on the same page. Bachmann sounds like well choreographed and artificial and Obama looks like he has no clue what's going on. I actually would love to see Ron Paul come up and win against the mainstream candidates the Horse and the Elephant keep propping up.

I like Ron Paul too but he has zero chance to beat Obama due to his weakness in several fronts. Mitt Romney is closest candidate I imagine can take a chance to beat Obama. But again it's depending on economy and mood of American people in next year.

Obama's comments about Netanyahu won't help him. All the Israelis have to do is start a conflict and disrupt oil supplies. If you can raise the oil prices and create a crisis in the US for two or three months prior to the elections, Obama will have to pack up and leave.

Next year could be huge for our planet earth. The European debt crisis could be explode which will drag world economy into depression; The Iran Nuclear bomb program may lead to an ugly Middle-East war and worldwide energy crisis; Most major countries will have election which has more uncertainty than ever.

Excellent observation KickOk1975. You are indeed a genius. Yes, US and Russian elections. Possibility of Israeli strike on Iran. Oil crisis. Heck, that is a swell idea for a new thread.

Interesting points raise.

It seems that the EU debt crisis is going down the tube and there is little chance of recovery.

Greece and Italy are having 'regime changes'. Who know which other European Govt topples?

I read an article day before where they are predicting that by 2015, Arctic will be ice free. If that is so, the water level will rise and island nations will either disappear or lose a lot of land that will go underwater.

And yes, elections in many countries is round the corner. More turmoil!

The biggest complaint here is ship numbers. They dump all their money into expensive ACs and DDGs that rate as high as cruisers. What the USN needs is an affordable FFG with decent firepower that can be produced in numbers. The OHP was the last choice and the only thing coming is a much less capable LCS. What the USN needs is 100 FREMM that are affordable and light on manpower. Manning them is the biggest cost factor these days.

Belgium and Ireland come to my mind. Here is a list of possible defaulters:

I think that is exaggerated. The Arctic ice is there to stay for several more decades:

Back home, even MMS won't survive I think.

I bodily guessing France could be the next domino waiting to fall due to their years stagnant growth and out spending deficit. Plus French banks have biggest outstanding loan exposed to PIGS country. If France fall, it will be a true disaster for Europe.

After Libya, it is will probably be France to see a regime change. 8)

I don't remember who, but someone made a nice observation:

While the US is busy plotting regime change all over the world, Israel is busy plotting regime change in the US.

We digressed. :)
