The Chinese are cloning Bajajs, KTMs and even Kawasakis; Pakistanis are buying them

Chinese have been long known for their copying abilities, especially in the automotive industry. There are well-documented instances of the copied motorcycles from China. There turns out to be more cloned motorcycles from China and guess what? They have now entered the markets of Pakistan.

Kawasaki Z250 – Wing 150

The cheapest Kawasaki available in India, the Z250, is copied as the Wing 150. The Chinese made copy gets similar headlamp set-up, partial fairing and graphics. The seat is a single one instead of the split seat that comes with the original Z250. Even the alloy wheels have been copied from the original bike.

The copied motorcycle comes with disc brakes at both front and rear wheel. The motorcycle is also available in yellow and red colours. It is to be noted that Kawasaki is not officially present in the Pakistani market yet.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 – Lion 150

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is quite a popular motorcycle in India. The layered fairing of the motorcycle gives it a unique look. The Lion 150 is made by a company called Zongsheng. The engine is 150cc liquid cooled single cylinder unit. The motorcycle cost about Rs. 1.8 lakh in Indian currency.

KTM 200 Duke – Lion Rokk

The 200 Duke is the first choice of enthusiasts in India. The sharp design of the motorcycle makes it one of the most desirable motorcycles for the youngsters. Chinese company Zongsheng has copied the motorcycle as Lion Rokk. The copied bike also gets Kawasaki green inspired paint job. The Rokk looks pretty similar with underbelly exhaust, exposed frame and the body panels. The bike gets petal disc brakes at front and rear.

Honda CBR 250 – YCR 150

Honda’s long association with Repsol in the MotoGP arena has given the brand a unique Repsol paint scheme. The Honda CBR 250R Repsol has been copied as YCR 150. The motorcycle gets liquid-cooled engine and blatantly copied body colours of the special edition motorcycle.

Kawasaki Ninja 300 – Skyline 250

Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the best selling model from the Kawasaki in India. The fully-faired motorcycle has been copied very closely with immaculate detail to the fairing and other parts of the motorcycle. The engine is 250cc, and there is dual disc brake set-up at the front of the motorcycle. It is also available in the dual colour paint scheme.

Yamaha YZF-R15 – Conquer

The 150 cc sensation from Yamaha captured a lot of attention in India. The R15 is inspired from the litre-class YZF-R1 and the aggressive stance of the motorcycle makes it very popular among the youngsters. The motorcycle copied as Conquer can be imported with 150cc, 250 cc or 350 cc engine capacity as per requirement.

Pakistani-Chinese bike Sigma Lion is a shocking copy of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 for 3 lakh!
Sigma Motorsports is giving a warranty with the Lion 150 but the figure will leave you in a state whether to laugh or not. Just 1500 km which means by the time you end your road trip from Delhi to Mumbai on it, the warranty will end.
Sigma Lion 150

Previously, we shared the details of Pakistani Bullet 70 to give you a laugh and now, we have come up with an equally interesting motorcycle. The bike that we are are referring to is the Sigma Lion 150 and it is manufactured by a Chinese brand called Zongsheng. The bike is imported and sold in Pakistan by a brand called Sigma Motorsports. The name Lion 150 is actually a bit difficult to digest at first and what’s even more shocking is its striking resemblance with Bajaj Pulsar RS200 that is currently on sale in India and some international markets. The front end of this bike gets the same bumblebee appearance along with similar projector headlamps. There is no denying the fact that Chinese brands have mastered the art of copying stuff and you will find multiple other examples.

Sigma Lion 150 in black green paint scheme

The Sigma Lion 150, as the name suggests, gets power from a 150cc, liquid-cooled engine mated to a five-speed transmission. Surprisingly, even the company’s official website does not shows any power and torque figures for the motorcycle and that makes us wonder if the numbers are really unworthy to be revealed. Also, while the website does not have any information on the top speed as well, a bit of research on the web told us that the bike reportedly hits 140 kmph. We highly doubt the information as the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 that clearly has a better engine with the similar displacement manages to clock almost the same figure. The braking is done with the help of dual disc brakes up front along with a single disc brake at the rear. There is no ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) on offer, unlike Bajaj Pulsar RS200 that gets a single-channel ABS.

Watch our Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 video review here:

Even the yellow colour scheme of the Sigma Lion 150 is almost the same as the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and in fact, from a distance, you will most likely mistake it for the latter. The Sigma Lion 150 is priced in Pakistan at PKR 2.80 lakh that translates to Rs 1.58 lakh as per our currency. The company is giving a warranty with this motorcycle but the figure will leave you in a state whether to laugh or not. Just 1500 km which means by the time you end your road trip from Delhi to Mumbai on it, the warranty will end.

KTM has been taken over by Bajaj, so technically it's a Bajaj company and they have ownership of ktm IPRs. So no copy paste...

The pulsar rs2oo is distinctively different than Italian electric bike be it headlamps, graphics, chasis or drive train former being electric and Bajaj pulsar having liquid cooled engine.....

all motorcycles look similar because they all have two wheels. if indian motorcycle manufactures believe that their designs are copied, then take it to the court or whatever institutions where the issue could be solved professionally. media is no good judge for IP violation. all these antique baseless china-copying-india stories only make you people laughable and pathetic, I mean how desperate are you guys, trying to salvage some petty pride while there is none left?

Bajaj does not copied from energica instead they have hired and bought designs from same Design house in Italy.
This famous design house has designed bikes as well as cars for different companies around the world.

The thing is you can buy design but you have to develop the production and hardware yourself. What the Chinese companies are doing is to replicate everything available in market but not develop these things themselves.

Just because all chinese look alike it doesn't mean everything look alike.....:biggrin2:

Does anyone one of the following bikes look alike? Mind you all have 2 wheels, handle, side stand, 2 mirrors, 1 engine, etc. They all look difference...

Actually chinese had one great grandfather whose sperms get replicated and produce same copies so chinese think everything looks alike.....o_O
World call such people THIEVES, CONS, ROBBERS, CHEATERS....:)

does the design houses sales similar designs to different customers ??? its not the thing that a design house does ,
slight variations into design does not means much morally but lawfully it is just enough to keep energica from suing the design house ,

and its not just design but many of its hardware is also imported like engine and others but atleast it is done by some legal way unlike chinese companies which do replicate hardware buy stealing intellectual property .
