Not In J&K..

Tangos are armed with HEAT Rifle grenades and RPG-7..

For J&K there are other solutions..

One does not use tanks in COIN.

Yet, what is the use of a vehicle that cannot take an RPG shot?

Terrorists in Kashmir use it extensively.
Then what is the use of operating Maruti Gypssy, all the choppers by army according to you then. Isnt it?

Can this vehicle be turned into robot operation as well with camera's and sensors built into it? This I asked because what is in the market those robots are exposed and prone to attack? I hope the situation never arises in real life where we have to use it but I am sure they must field tested as well before starting the production of the vehicle.

One would rather stay with the current drill (manpower intensive using cover and fire and move) than venture with a vehicle that will blow up when one is closing in.
Your Answer Sir,.....

PAV Badger

Soon to be crowned the world's smallest tank, this little armored juggernaut is only 32 inches wide and about 4 feet high. The driver is protected by ballistic steel and Kevlar armor with bulletproof Lexan windows. This compact powerhouse is designed to assist security and law enforcement teams.

Indian Forces at CT operation do need small armoud tracked Vehicle with mass fire power..

The Vehicle is deigned for hostage rescue and casulity evacuation in places like inside TAJ..

It cannot climb stares but it can fit in a elevator and move and fire and armored in tight hotel spaces ..

This is not a first attempt but a second in India..

The vehicle is made on request by NSG and counter terror agency..
Do u mean this bhai!!!

A mini armoured car, designed for use in confined spaces such as airports and hotels targeted in terror attacks, has gone on display at an Indian arms fair.
The battery operated, two million rupee ($45,000) Anti-Terrorist Assault Cart (Atac) is said to resemble a bullet-proof golf buggy with firing ports.
It has been specially designed to transport two armed security personnel during or after terror attacks.
It was created in the wake of the Mumbai (Bombay) hotel attacks of 2008.
The attacks in November 2008 took place in two luxury hotels with gunmen surrounded by security forces for about 60 hours. One hundred and sixty-five people were killed in the attacks, including nine gunmen.
The company behind the cart, Metaltech Motor Bodies Pvt Ltd, said the Atac had been designed in the aftermath of the attacks.
'Helplessness'
"It can extract civilians or engage terrorists," Metaltech managing director JB Sehrawat told the AFP news agency.
"It's a product of our sense of helplessness over the casualties we took in the attacks. We put our heads and hearts together and came up with the Atac."
It weighs just under half a tonne, has bullet-proof windows and contains numerous firing ports. Furthermore it is able to negotiate corridors and lifts.
Metaltech says the squat and heavily armoured vehicle can also withstand grenade blasts and last for six hours on a single charge - with a top speed of 25km/h (15mph).
The company said it was offering a prototype of the vehicle, which drew applause from visitors and military scientists attending the arms fair in Delhi, for trials with the sponsors of the Commonwealth Games, due to be held in the city in November.
India has had to reassure foreign countries that those games and next month's hockey World Cup in Delhi will be safe and free of terror attacks.
"Given the growing threats, we need nano-engineering such as the Atac," Metaltech Vice President SW Thatte said.

How about the danger of tipping over for this kind of narrow tracked vehicles...?

Its not a tank..

BMP-1/2 cannot take RPG rounds either..

The armored vehicle for Kashmir CT terror operation is not this one, this does not suit the task but a different IFV..
It will not be practical to make this size of vehicle RPG proof, it won't be feasible.

At least , this tin box should have the sufficient protection to withstand grenade attacks because during the 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorists used the grenades extensively.

What is the aim that this vehicle is to achieve?

Can it take a hit from an RPG?

If it can, then maybe closing in with terrorists holed up in a Kashmiri house makes sense.
Brig, most of these put in specialists by arm vendors and their paid advertisers will not be able to answer such real questions. Arms vendors should hire someone like you rather than these photo psychos.....

If it can take a hit from a grenade ( or any other concealable weapon terrorists might use) then it might work. Probably would not survive an RPG though.

All right, for those expecting this tiny vehicle to take an RPG, here is some news for you.

RPG does not expand into Rocket-Propelled Grenade, rather RPG is a Russian acronym that means hand held anti-tank grenade launcher. Some of these RPG variants can penetrate upto ~650 mm of RHA (rolled homogeneous armour). So, even tanks are not safe from this. So please, stop this unrealistic expectation already. You need a tank, and some luck, to survive an RPG hit.
