Remember a disclosure by a former army guy that Musharraf himself did not have faith in Babur missile's accuracy. That is why he did not want to expand the Kargil incursion.

I think its Ghauri missile.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the scientist said that during the Kargil crisis of May-July 1999, Musharraf, who was then army chief, "wanted to deploy Ghauri missiles, but air went out of his balloon when the top general in charge of the missile program told him the missile had a faulty guidance system."

Musharraf returns to Pakistan despite threats

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has arrived back in Pakistan, ending four years of self-imposed exile and defying death threats.

A protection detail of heavily armed commandos met him after his plane from Dubai touched down in Karachi airport. A mass rally in the city was cancelled.

General Musharraf plans to lead his party in the May general election.

My two penny worth of reading: The US has arm-twisted Pakistan Army to back Musharraf return to power just like it arm-twisted Musharraf to pass NRO and allow Benazir back home. (It is another story that the ISI's rogue elements spoiled the party by taking her out whether with or without Musharraf's tacit nod.) Now US knows Zardari is a spent force and PPP will not come back to power for a long, long time. As the US needs to turn its attention to Syria and wants to complete Afghan pullout smoothly, it does not want more troubles in Pakistan, especially when it needs to keep Iran and China in the crosshairs. Without US pressure there was no way Kiyani was allowing Musharraf back in because he knows as a former military man Musharraf is more dangerous to his political ambitions than any other civilian leader. So US wins hands down with Muasharraf in saddle.
