    Its media..they have to take care of the propaganda, the state policy on media and thereader base they feed.
    :)
    West, Russia, China use the media liberally to promote and fan the interests of the state. So most of the 'breaking news', rumors are staged propaganda.
    Sputnik has that flavor.
    We have seen that in some cases the rumors do materialize into diplomatic strategy or defence deals, of course with changes that evolve over time.

    Best thing is to collect info from various sources and use logic..wait and watch.
    :)

    Tank "Armata" such a revolutionary approach to the tank T-64, when the Soviet army had two types of tanks (medium and heavy). T-64 got the best of them and combined. Turned out the MBT. Actually there is nothing unique in the tank "Armata" no. The West or China can't create such a tank? Can.Here, as the Soviet principle: We are the first! I think The game isnt worth the candle. Better deeply to upgrade existing tanks. Amused at the beginning it says on the application of stealth technology. Radar observation of land battlefield, hardly used. Cheat this observation is very easy and it is used as a primary detection.It is 10-12 km. Tanks used for direct fire.

    Maybe they will get their salaries in Armatas? Beats family Lada in those weekend trips to Dacha....

    On a serious note, I am very worried about Russian economy. It could become worse than 1998 with no fast recovery on sight. Well, we got space for Russian refugees also.

    The real new breakthrough in tanks is not Armata, but Israeli tank protection system....they did not loose any tanks in previous campaign in Gaza...

    You still haven't got the main idea. It is incorrect to call "Armata" a tank.

    "Armata" is not a TANK, it is a PLATFORM. The MBT is T-14, the APC is T-15, the ARV is T-16.

    These will be the backbone of a heavy task force based on "Armata" platform, which will also include:
    - self-propelled artillery (Koalicia);
    - command vehicle;
    - mobile SAM/ATGM complex (Panzir+Hermes);
    - support tank (either 30mm, 57mm or even 152mm "infantry tank");
    - or whatever will be needed.

    Remote control out-of-the-box, with high robotisation potential. That what this dream concept is all about.

    I showed that in many industrial enterprises of Russia began to have problems with the payment of wages. There are many examples. In particular:the cosmodrome "East" - the future replacement of the cosmodrome "Baikonur". Now Russia does not need this expensive tank Economically, she was already involved in two wars, can start and third in Nagorno-Karabakh.

    No tanks were damaged during Operation Protective Edge, with the Trophy Active Protection system performing over a dozen interceptions of anti-tank weapons including Kornets, Metis and RPG-29.[31] The system, by identifying the source of fire, on occasion also allowed tanks to kill the Hamas anti-tank team.[32]

    Giora Katz, head of Rafael's land division, stated that it was a "breakthrough because it is the first time in military history where an active defense system has proven itself in intense fighting."[33]

    2006 Israelis lost many tanks. If it protects against Kornet etc...it should be good.

    Not exactly. These are just same chassis (with different engines!), while "Armata" family will share the same chassis, engine and combat information and control system integrated to tactical level network + remote control ability.

    And it's just more powerful, modern and overall cooler.

    The principle of "unified chassis - unified engine" appeared before WW2 and not only in the USSR.T-34 - Su-85 - AT-42 - T-34t Of course, we must make allowances for development.
