Any militia should be illegal, regardless of their purpose. This is not Afghanistan where everyone and their dog has a private army.

The Supreme Court has ruled that anti-Maoist militias are illegal and unconstitutional:

BBC News - Indian court rules anti-Maoist militia unconstitutional
Looks like I said this long time back here at DFI:

Join the Indian Army. We already salute those Gurkhas who joined the Indian Army after 1947.

Heck, we already have Salwa Judum and CPI(M) armies, thanks to the blessings of the Home Ministry? Now a Gurkha army? Are we going to rely on unconstitutional and mercenary armies to protect ourselves?

Good Lord!

Means Maosists are constitutional. OK. CRPF is impotent to take on the Maoists. Army and IAF are UNWILLING [they are to defend. Hum unhe kyon pal rahe hain?]

Now PSOs are to be abolished!! Tie the hands of the State, then bemoan, then dismiss the govt.

Good. Maoists WON this round. They are on winning spree.

I SHALL never relocate in Chhatisgarh.

Gentlemen, I have seen the terror DIRECTLY during my extensive travels through Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh [both were yet to created de jure], and Murshdaibad distt. of WB.
