There is small correction there is no direct use of c or c++ in military or aviation control system software they use c and c++ model framework or library to have that features , for example for AI based systems the common language we use is ROS and for automation we use AWL all these codeing back end infra have been developed by specific company or organisation , so for all aircraft control system mostly all hard core main programs created in ADA and for sub function fertures like auto altitude hold for f35 b Navy version coded in c++ based model frame work which is integrated development framework for Lockheed Martin,

I never said they were doing great. All I said they don't need to do great in all fields. Even if they hold on to their strengths like agro based industry, sport goods industry, mercenarism, terrorism, etc. they will get by comfortably.
I'm too most essentially talking about the contexts they need to be advanced in which are very broad.

Again, being technologically advanced is a loose term but a country who doesn't qualify most parts of spectrum can be called technologically backward.
Saying this rationally, not nationalistically.

How cost efficient is it to use a Python-5 to shoot this down?

... or even the R-73 of the MKI?
Firstly that wasn't the drone that was shot down....it was Burraqs that got shot down......pics make it quite clear!
Secondly, it's not the cost of an enemy equipment that always matters, but the damage it can do to you.
($1000 bullet proof jacket to counter a $1 bullet!!!)

That said, there are RF/mW based weapons that will be deployed to take down the smaller drones like you have posted

This isn't the wreckage of a Burraq...

BTW it is a fallacious argument that price of the intruding entity should be matched by the intercepting weapon.

Weapons are meant to be used as per their availability and used before their expiry date. If you have a gun why use a knife? And the resource available at that time was Su30. I

It would have been foolish of the Pilot to use its SU30 gun, go closer the border to take the bait.

Instead of cost the more important thing is that you have failed the enemy mission and by downing it's craft, hampered it's motivation and showed him the middle finger

Sending Su-30MKI arming with big cruise missiles through Chinese air defense system 500km deep into China to attack any major city (1000km away from border) is suicide.
For two such Sukhois a whole squadron is required for escort And those aircrafts as per specs will be carrying 12 missiles each ,mix of aam and ARM. With those they will also be electronically protected with digital RWR and dual Color maws and a comprehensive AESA based jammers. And by the way CHINESE military in tibet is a threat to india not the chinese cities.

It's no surprise that SU30MKI can jam an AMRAMM or two. The same kind of tech is influenced from it and is utilised in KA-50 Black shark heavy gunship. There are even videos that KA-50 literally changing flight path of guided missiles fired at it. This gives more weight to Russians having sophisticated and functional ECM systems.

Video:
I read in an article somewhere, a senior scientist at Kret systems put it very simply, "the more sophisticated you develop an offensive system, the easier it is for us to make it useless", now I wonder Lockheed Martin is rolling out its latest F35s :hmm: hmm.

This is what made the AMRAMM useless ... it is steerable making the jamming more effective. But gotta say, those MKI pilots are some nut cases to take such high risk, I mean the AMRAMM missile seeker becomes active at close proximity (< 10km is what I read) ... that's nuts

What Russian jamming system does MKI have? I thought they bought Israeli jamming pods.

Yes, MKIs (and MiG-21 Bisons) carry EL/L-8222 SPJ.

There's a Russian wingtip jammer pod (SAP-518) which I don't think IAF uses, but I do recall seeing an MKI with BrahMos on the centreline which had wingtip pods.
