Re: South Korea rejects creationist interference in school textbooks

Totally believable in Korea. A couple of weeks back, a Korean was telling me that his Church preacher told him that Darwin realized towards the end of his life, that he made "a big mistake" by proposing evolution theory, and he regretted having done it. Even though it has not been historically Christian-majority, Korean Christians today are among the most staunch ones.
Its not surprising; they have the zealousy of the newly-converted.

Once heard the rumors that they are spreading the S.K style Christ in countryside of Northeast China, by presenting small gifts to attract people's attention.
:hmm:

Rev. Sun Myung Moon Funeral In South Korea Attended By Thousands
GAPYEONG, South Korea -- Tens of thousands of mourners sobbed, sang, prayed and vowed to cherish the Rev. Sun Myung Moon's teachings Saturday as they said goodbye to their self-proclaimed messiah and "True Father," whose death earlier this month shed light again on his controversial religious and business empire.

Moon, founder of the Unification Church, best known for conducting mass weddings meant to build a harmonious, multicultural world, died Sept. 3 at age 92. He was friend to U.S. presidents and leaders of North Korea. His church has been accused of brainwashing recruits and duping them out of money, but followers believe Moon's claim that he was put on Earth to complete Jesus Christ's works.

Christians in South Korea are extremely radical. I remember an article about one getting beheaded while trying to convert some Iraqi's.

USA has been trying to evangelize East Asia for quite some time. They have been pretty successful in South Korea which will become majority Christian in the future. These guys failed in Japan though, let's see how they'll fare in China.
3 million Chinese convert every year. It is going the same way as South Korea. Christianity has failed to explode in Japan due to the inability to lose the perception that is is only for the West, a barrier that has been broken in PRC and ROK. Evangelists are fervently working to lose the Western stigma and make songs and worship styles more in tune with Japanese culture.
