Range of SAAB AWAC is about 400 kms . 100 kms less than Phalcon's official range.

Guys, propaganda apart, we all must appreciate the passion with which Pakistanis promote this product world around whether it is promoted as a "Islamic fighter" or "an alternate to brutal West" and other such silly slogans. The point of understanding here is that countries are actually buying into this sort of publicity. Azerbaijan, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Iran and some countries have expressed interest in buying the fighter as an alternate to US and Russia.

How many sarkari DODOS of HAL and ADA have promoted Tejas that way? How much has Tejas been advertised? How many countries have shown even theoretic interest in it? The answer is none, nil, naught. Lack of enthusiasm in part from earlier ACMs of IAF, from the designing department and from other sorts of departments that are involved in Tejas program is the reason why no one around the world even knows about Tejas; let alone express interest.

Enmity aside, I think we must learn some advertising skills from Pakistanis for our indigenous products. Remember that our competition is not against Pakistan but China because this fighter was made, designed, developed, tested and manufactured in China. Pakistan is simply a financial contributor to it. Ask any Pakistani what part has Pakistan played in FC-1 project regarding avionics, weapon systems, mission computers, etc.. no one has any answer and start criticizing Tejas' delay.

Therefore keeping China in mind, we need to get these dodos of ours to add glam to our products so that markets in Asia, Africa and South America consider us as a reliable supplier.

To be fair, Japanese whipped our arses all the way from Singapore and Malaya till Burma. Had it not been for logistics and supply lines, who knows what would have happened. In fact, many of our soldiers fought for Japanese after surrendering in the south-east theater.

In short we kicked nothing..we were canon fodder smartly employed as a shield by allies to facilitate their advance.

But no harm in saying we did ..right?
