Speaking via Skype at a side event at the 14th session of the Universal Periodic Review currently underway in Geneva, Rayappu told the audience that,

"Our solution does not lie in the 13th Amendment but on the Tamil nationhood to be recognised. We are not a minority.

From the beginning of history there have been two nations, that must be recognised."

A blatant lie. Tamils were never a separate nation in Sri Lanka. They were just a minority or mostly a separate ethnicity. If Sri Lankan Tamils deserve a separate nation then more than 700 of ethincities in India should also be given a nationhood outright.

There is no solution in sight since the Buddhists feel that Tamils are second class and as good as plantation slaves as was of US South.

That is also a lie. Sinhalese never treat Tamils as second class citizens. We should remember the last 4 kings of Sri Lanka was Tamil Nayaks. But Tamils people who were brought for work in Tea states are regarded as lower cast by Sinhalese and mostly Tamils.

Wise way of confusing and obfuscating.

You are learning from the Chinese real fast.

Quickly rewrite history and say that India is actually a SL Kingdom and it was you who came and not us who came!

Good for those Sri Lankans.

We, here in India, are dying to become Sri Lankans.

Hurry!

However, in The Great Chronicle of Sri Lankan The Mahavamsa. it is said Prince Vijaya (Sinhala:විජය කුමරු) was the first recorded King of Sri Lanka mentioned in the ancient Sri Lankan Pali chronicles. His reign is traditionally dated to 543 BC – 505 BC. It is said that he came from Bengal.

Later research by Sinhala linguist W.S. Karunatillake supports the hypothesis that the Sinhalese originated in the Eastern India and that many words (over 50%) resemble Bengali language.

So, watch out Mamata Bannerjee would claim SL and then extend the claim to India, that both SL and India is Bengal's!! :pound:
