Terror camp hit by surgical strike active again

While Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was making peace overtures to New Delhi + , terror groups backed by his country’s army were setting up eight new launch pads along the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Approximately 250 terrorists are waiting to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir from 27 launch pads in PoK, top intelligence sources said.

Among the eight new launch pads are those in Lipa Valley, one of the two strategic locations which was destroyed by the Indian Army during its surgical strikes in September 2016, days after the terror attack at Uri in Kashmir.

Some Indian news media has claimed that, they have got info from the officials on all the launchpads active with the numbers of terrorists in each location.
Since the information is out in public domain, this could escalate.

pakistan is using the same camp to launch terrorists into India during the same time as the previous surgical strike. kinda symbolic in my view.
Looks like more than pak army, its the terrorists who are pumped up about the attack on India during the annual celebrations of Surgical Strike.

Half of these so called intel reports are bull. Just last month intel reported that 450 terrorists are waiting at launch pads. Where have the remainder 200 disappeared?

I take these reports with a pinch of salt. It's more about sensationalism than truth.

Actually it wasn't 'mass leave'. The Paki Kargil disaster under the code name 'BADR' was planned and known to only a select few which included the Gang of Five led by Mush. It was kept so secret that the neither the ISI chief nor even the DG military operations were aware of what's going on!! Even the corps commanders were not kept in the loop!

To keep the secrecy, and the facade of normalcy, there was no restriction on leave etc. It was to look like business as usual. Normally when such an op is planned, all leave, courses and temp duties are cancelled and officers and men ordered back to units. But nothing as such happened as they wanted to keep the Op top secret.

New Delhi:

As the government marks the second anniversary of the surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has hinted at another such operation by the Indian Army recently.

"Our neighbouring country Pakistan keeps fostering unrest. It doesn't refrain from its nefarious activities. People often raise how they mistreat our Border Security Force jawans. You might have seen something... something has happened, I won't say what. It has happened, it has gone alright. You can believe us, it has been alright - just two-three days ago. Some people know. And you will see ahead, what happens," the Home Minister said cryptically at an event in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar today.

"I have told the Border Security Force, they are our neighbours, don't fire the first bullet. But if they fire the first one, don't count how many you fire back," he added.

The comments come in the backdrop of Border Security Force jawan Narendra Singh's killing and mutilation near the border with Pakistan last week.

Army General Bipin Rawat had earlier this week too said he believed it was time for another surgical strike. "I believe there is a need for one more action (surgical strike). But I would not want to disclose how we want to do it," he had told India Today in an interview.

General Rawat had also said infiltration from across the LoC persisted despite the call for a ceasefire, and stressed that this cannot be allowed to continue and appropriate action has to be taken to deter terrorists from disrupting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

The government last week called off a meeting between the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, citing the killings of three policemen in Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad releasing postage stamps glorifying terrorist Burhan Wani, who was shot dead by security forces in 2016.

Indian troops crossed the Line of Control in September 2016 to take out terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, weeks after Pakistani terrorists attacked an army base in Uri in Kashmir in the deadliest attack on the military. 19 soldiers were killed.

This week, the government has organised a three-day event called 'Parakram Parv' to celebrate the armed forces on the anniversary of the surgical strikes.

This is very apt. we can bash them pakis and also do kadi ninda..both.

pakis always respond by flying jets and what not?

Last time India did surgical strike,,,pakis landed their junk fighters on the highway..
That got media attention and pakis were impressed.

This time, "something" happened across the border and paki fighters scrambled and woke up the city.

IMO, if pakis are responding, be it with their air force or whatever, they would never put a show like this for people to see or tweet about cuz that will kill their element of surprise whatsoever left for them paki air force.

Same way, last time Surgical strike happened, the local population was shifted out cuz them paki army wanted to sanitize the area and ensure that nobody sees anything like moving dead bodies or other incriminating evidences that would put paki army in a spot when they deny such incident.
This time too, there is news in pak media that the pak army cleared out 5 KM area near the border.

Its the same pattern.

Something had happened and Sure thing this will look Imran very weak...very weak..already the lobby of his own ministers are against him for goofed up diplomacy.

The jets do night operations quite often in peshawar. Don't get alarmed by that tweet. Even our Sukhois patrol at night near mumbai and over ONGC fields in the west.
