It will be used to open new route for Chinese submarines.
due to its superb ability of precise survey and deep sea maneuverability, it will bring back the most detailed ocean bed relief maps for south sea fleet.
Will new routes really be opened for submarines? It would seem to me that subs are limited by their crush depth, not lack of routes.

The General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO) consists of an international group of experts who work on the development of a range of bathymetric data sets and data products, including gridded bathymetric data sets, the GEBCO Digital Atlas, the GEBCO world map and the GEBCO Gazetteer of Undersea Feature Names.
