Army Chief of Staff Gen. Hussein Bin Abdullah Al Gobail of Saudi Arabia paid an official visit to Ankara last week. He met with his counterpart the Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel. He was also accepted by President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the daily newspaper, Vatan, such a high level of acceptance for Gobail was because of $2 billion arms sale. The newspaper claims that Saudi Arabia wants to buy the national unmanned aerial vehicle "ANKA" the national tank "Altay". According to the source, the contract negotiations for sale have been conducted.

KSA should rather buy atlay than leopard 2

Strange the officials of turkey also list Pakistan as a possible customer.

Rumors says that on the last IDEX in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabian high ranking officers said they resigned from purchasing Leopard 2 tanks. Purchasing Altay also have no sense from logistical point of view. KSA use M1A2S, approx 400 such tanks will be in their inventory, why purchase more different tanks, with different components, which will require diferent logistical base and in the end will increase costs and stress on logistic support?

Very well said

Purchase of both Leopard 2 and Atlay doesnt make sense.

when they have a platform which is equally good as well as similar to the rest of tanks they operate
