I don't quite agree with the way Sachin has decided to call it a day. He should have made up his mind and played a farewell series earlier or played the ODIs against Pak and gone out with a high.

Anyways,

THANK YOU SACHIN FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR INDIAN CRICKET AND NEVER MIND THE DETRACTORS.

Thank you GOD for giving Sachin to India!

Finally Hmmmph . . .!!

Could have timed it better . . .

I agree he should have announced it before the India Pak series and then gone out to a well deserved ovation.

It would be better if he completes his 50th ODI century before retiring.

How come?

The papers state that he has stated that he has offered himself for the ODIs.

He loves money (Bal T said so) and if he retired he will lose a lot of money from the ads that he garners since he will be dropped from that too!

Bal Tacks said that he does not give any money to anyone except that he signs a bat and that is auctioned.

So, at best he gives his signature for charity, but not his own money.

Compare that with Salman Khan!

Or has he been given the feeler that he is not being considered?

A damn sad way for an icon to go.

But then money is God to some!

History!

Gavaskar also scored hegs of a lot too!

But he knew when to go!

And he went on his own calling and not after people indirectly bayed for his blood or doubted his usefulness to Indian cricket!
People have been doubting him for 10 years now.

You are a typical Indian hero worshipper.

We cannot do without icon.

Indira is India.

Modi is Gujarat.

Nitish is Behar.

Rahul is India's future!

So and so Amar rahe ga, jab tak Tara Chand rahega!

Laloo rahega jab tak Alloo samosa men rahega.

Tendulkar is Indian cricket! ;)

Hew should have read the tea leaves!

Tendulkar is a GREAT cricketer.

But this way steeped in ignominy is hardly the way for a great person to go!

He has shamed himself and shamed all, including me, who thought he was fantastic and the greatest.

One leaves with the thunder still resounding and not when one bays for one's blood!

Think how a great leader like Jawaharlal had to leave!

Today, but fro being a part of the Nehru Gandhi combine, he has been reduced to a footnote.

Is that fair for all the good that Nehru did?

Compare him with his daughter Indira.

People may crib, but even the BJP admits she was a great leader, which they and many others, do not say for Nehru!

Take the case of Salman Khan.

He has court cases and while all feel that he should face justice, yet people feel sorry because he is also a very generous man!

I appreciate good cricket all round. I had a tear when Lara, Steve Waugh and many such great retired. Rest I don't agree. Indira = India and the rest is not for me.

Sachin refused millions offered by liquor/tobaco companies for commercial adverts.

Drunk Salman Khan took lives of civilians by crushing them beneath his SUV & broke numerous other laws before coming up with charity to repair his image for professional gains.

He is the last person if to be compared with Sachin.

Sachin worked from the level of ballboy till today before being called God of Cricket. He deserves credit for his hard work & unmatched expertise. He has upheld Indian pride on every possible occasion & nation is grateful for that.

Sachin the legend retires. No doubt media pressure must have put him in an untenable position.

The best of charities and philotropic activity is done silently without tom tomming. Those who shout about it do it with less noble intentions

If you are rich and famous and by doing charity you can get others to do so too, then need to shout more.

For eg. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have inspired many millionaires and billionaires.
