Israeli experts say that if the plan to sell Russian S-300 missiles to Syria is performed , Assad will be able to neutralize Israeli air activity inside Israel.

In the past , Israel succeeded to prevent the sale of the advanced missiles. Now the subject is being discussed again .

The missile, one of the most advanced ones used by the Russian army, can neutralize airplanes at a distance of several tens of kilometers, with high precision, thanks to a sophisticated radar system combined with special sensors on the missile itself.

The S-300 missile is effective at ranges of several tens of kilometers, and according to experts it is capable to overcome part of the defense systems installed at present on board the Israeli Airforce fighter jets.

"This missile is a system with greatest capabilities. It can be a problem for any attacking aircraft ", said an expert this week.

The missile system can handle simultaneously several targets and send towards them missiles from a launcher according to the perceived level of threat from each of the targets.

Each S-300 missile is 7 meters long and weighs 1.5 tons. The missile is armed with a most lethal warhead weighing more than 70 kg. The missile is effective in ranges up to 150 km and at the height of up to 30 km.

More confusion in the ME is the merrier.

No one should get the upper hand and that is fine with the world.

It is just that all sides find it convenient to have the ME on fire!

Russians have let down Syria.

A B.S war fueled by Western stooges reduced a peaceful and culturally tolerant country to rouble.

The hypocrites who are calling the rebels as resistance, 5 yrs down the line would call them as terrorists.

Russia has no plans to sell S-300 systems to Syria - Lavrov
Russia has no plans to sell S-300 long-range surface-to-air missile systems to Syria and is completing its arms deliveries under the previous contracts, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a joint news conference with his German and Polish counterparts Guido Westerwelle and Radoslaw Sikorski on Friday.

"Russia has no plans to sell, it already sold long ago, and it is now completing supplies under the previous contracts on units that are air defence systems," he said. "This is not banned by any international norms, these are defence weapons."

"They are intended for Syria in this case to have an opportunity to defend itself from air strikes. And this, as we know, is not too fantastic scenario," Lavrov said.

May be Russia wants to end the violence and the killing. When the war goes unilateral, Syria would be available for talks to find solution.

Russia is commiting Strategic blunder.
When the US or Israel gets involved it is Game over for Syria.
There would be no one in Govt left for talks.

A western backed Syrian Govt will be a huge loss to Russia geopolitically.

If the war ended without much escalation from this point, there will be someone who will remain to talk.
May be Russia is trying to bring them to the table and negotiate a behaviour which is favourable for them on Syria.
