Gulf war

Saudi forces participated in the subsequent Operation Desert Storm: Saudi pilots flew more than 7,000 sorties and Saudi troops took part in the battles around the Saudi town of Raʾs al-Khafji
Offensive against Yemeni Rebels

On November 5, 2009 the Royal Saudi Land Forces launched a sweeping ground offensive against Yemeni Shiite Hawthi Rebels after they crossed the Saudi border (in order to outflank the Yemeni Army, which had earlier launched a military campaign against the Hawthis to control and pacify the northern Yemeni mountains) and killed 2 Saudi border guards. The Saudi forces relied heavily on air power and artillery to soften the rebels without risking their men. As of January 23, 2010 the Saudi Army had lost 113 men in the fighting against the rebels, with most of the casualties occurring when ground forces tried to move into areas that had been softened by shelling.

Not so easily. USA can to decrease its influence on Middle East but it will not leave a empty space behind it and a free way to Russia holds ME. USA will exchange its influence by the influence of their Europeans allies, mainly the France. Example, the wars against Lybia, Mali and Syria, which had have a french leadership. France also opposed itself to the nuclear deal with Iran.

USA are divided among to contain the China or Iran. Apparently USA will focus its efforts in China containment, a bigger threat than Iran, as China is part of Pacific same region as USA, while Iran is in ME that is a region USA dont belongs to. To contain Iran power is not the real american interest, but the american 'interest' distorted by zionist lobby in that country. To contain China is the real american interest today.

USA can lose its allies in ME, but to contain China it will gain new allies in southeast asia. southeast asia countries can offer a bigger market for american goods, as they are most populous than ME allies, which have to offer just oil, something that the fracking oil technology does USA not need more to import from them.
A imbecilidade dos árabes não tem tamanho.

Russia warns Saudi against giving Syria rebels missiles | News , Middle East | THE DAILY STAR

February 25, 2014 08:57 PM

KIEV: Russia on Tuesday warned Saudi Arabia against supplying Syrian rebels with shoulder-launched missile launchers, saying such a move would endanger security across the Middle East and beyond.

The Russian foreign ministry said in a statement that it was "deeply concerned" by news reports that Saudi Arabia was planning to buy Pakistani-made shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles and anti-tank systems for armed Syrian rebels based in Jordan.

It said that the aim was to alter the balance of power in a planned spring offensive by rebels on the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

"If this sensitive weapon falls into the hands of extremists and terrorists who have flooded Syria, there is a great probability that in the end it will be used far from the borders of this Middle Eastern country," the foreign ministry said.

Long-existing tensions between Russia and Saudi Arabia have intensified further as a result of the Syria conflict, with Moscow standing by Assad but Riyadh offering open support for the rebels.

Russia is widely seen as Assad's last remaining major ally in a conflict that has left an estimated 140,000 people dead since it began as a peaceful uprising in March 2011.
