Pakistan security forces have arrested a man who they claim was “a serving officer in the Indian Navy and deputed to the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)” in Balochistan province on Thursday, local media reported. A report on the Dawn newspaper’s website quoted Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti as claiming that an “an Indian spy” was arrested from the southern part of the province.

He also claimed that the alleged “spy” was sponsoring terrorist activities in Balochistan, the report said. A PTI report, quoting Bugti, said the man “has been identified as Bhushan Yadav”. A Pakistani security official told Dawn that the “RAW officer” had been taken to Islamabad for interrogation. The official told the newspaper that the “Indian national” had been suspected to be involved in “various acts of terrorism and other subversive activities in Balochistan”. The unnamed official was quoted as claiming that the man was involved in acts of sectarian terrorism and attacks in Karachi as well.


PS: Because there were news reports that an ex Pak army officer has infiltrated into India for proxy strike and terror strike. These Porkis are just trying to justify this act. They are catching some local person and calling him RAW officer. Idiots!!

The way this khalistan issue is only limited to Indian punjab, baloch issue should be restricted to pakistani territory. Influx of balochis into paki unis will give them better platform but the problem is, their the army is strict and any one who becomes Kanhaiya Kumar is nabbed and vanished.

India does not send any more Indian serving personnels as spy anymore. Or it was so that was decided during IK Gujral's tenure. If that policy has been changed or not, we can never know and its better to stay secret that way. Most countries nowadays use local sources for spying through honey trapping or financial incentives. Even Pakistan use our low rung, ex-servicemen for spying activities.

I really doubt India will send an Naval officer of Commander level to Balochistan. We dont really need to send such an officer to do any work we might need to accomplish over there. This news, mostly like other news, will be dead in a few days in Pakistan.

This is just posturing. Every petty thief caught in Pakistan is projected as RAW officer, in order to use it as fodder for the conspiracy theory cottage industry. The fact that they have concluded that someone was a RAW officer even before putting his case through any judicial process itself shows there is no such thing as due process in Pakistan. This is actually against international diplomatic norms to accuse a foreign nation of hostile acts without even a judicial process. How is it that Pakistan kept asking for proofs during the Kasab fiasco and we kept giving it, and on the other hand here they have already concluded someone to be an Indian official and announced it even before conducting a trial or sharing any evidence with us. Such irresponsible acts would lead to a deterioration of relations between the two nations.

MEA should take up this issue and pursue it internationally and bash Pakistan on all international multilateral forums till they concede. We can't just keep ignoring these transgressions as domestic consumption. They might be for domestic consumption but it amounts to hostile propaganda at the expense of India's credibility. For too long have we been dismissing this behavior as childish. We should make them pay a price for it in such a way that Pakistan's international credibility takes a hit, so they never use false news to stir up anti-India sentiments again. This should not be ignored.
