    Men of religion require only the award by God and none else.

    Spiritual recognition and not Temporal.

    Not necessarily of god because many ascetics and 'panths' don't believe in god. They can reject it to keep the self-consciousness pure so as to not let it get involved in temporal matters. But I guess its the same thing expressing in different wordings, god or no god who cares? (except the abrahmic folks) :D

    I believe they have said that they'd turn down even the highest honour.

    Its very simple, a sadhu by definition is someone who has forsaken the material attachments, such awards should hold no value.

    Anyway, its a good slap on the silly libtards.

    They are right. Instead of Godman, Government should choose people who have real talent. It's good that they have stepped down themselves from getting the award.
