Quetta blast kills 5, injures 17 – The Express Tribune

QUETTA: A powerful blast followed by another explosion near Zarghon Road in Quetta killed five people while injuring 17 others on Wednesday, Express News reported.
The bomb exploded in a crowded car repair market at Double Road near Zarghon Road. The area is reported to be a local commercial hub, and is suffering from a severe traffic jam following the blast.
Police and rescue services have arrived on site and the injured, three of whom are understood to be in a very critical condition, are being transported to Bolan Medical Complex and Provincial Sandeman Hospital known as Civil Hospital, where state of emergency has already been declared.
"We have received five dead bodies and 17 injured people from the blast site," Rasheed Jamali, a doctor at Quetta's civil hospital, told AFP.
"The blast was huge and I have seen dozens of people lying in pool of blood on double road," an eyewitness told Express Tribune.
The bomb disposal squad said the explosives, which weighed around 6-7 kilograms, were planted on a motorcycle.
