I wanted to discuss about Progressive Taxation policy in general.
I know, it is supposed to prevent the evil "rich" people from making lots of money, but is it not a bit unfair?
I mean, even with a fixed taxation for all citizens, the people earning more are going to pay more as taxes. For example, A person earning Rs. 1 crore and 1 lakh per year will pay respectively 10 lakhsRs. and 10thousand Rs. as taxes respectively. I mean is it not enough?
We can just make an exception for the people who fall below poverty line from paying taxes but all can be made to pay taxes at the same percentage. I think that will lead to less black money and more revenue for the govt and more investments and more job oppurtunities for the public and faster poverty reduction. What do you guys think?
