Add to it only people with low self esteem will go to the level of such desperation. America is a country of immigrants, And that's something that most Americans are aware of. They're are more afraid of being labelled as people against a certain color, race or sex.

As far as identity is concerned, one can adopt any identity. Whatever, identity he/she choses totally depends on them. They should have the basic freedom of following what they believe.

Many successful people are people of color, proving that success doesn't necessarily depend on race.
